Back onto what you said above whitey I understand what your saying but I think it's coming from KP. He's friends with Piers and he can put things out to a lot of people and make even more people aware of this.

Just had a look on Cricinfo and It's got a social media piece David Lloyd says Vaughan would be the right man but he'll not touch the position and he would certainly not without the x factor KP.

You must want the same as me, People in all sports (English and British for the likes of the Tennis team and Olympic team) to do well and I can't understand how this isn't going to weaken the team

Pressure is all on Cooky now. Good luck to him he will need it.

I prefer England to be good at cricket, yes, and up until the last ten years or so, I rarely saw us beat Australia etc. So it's been a great era for us as fans, and the likes of Vaughan, Flintoff, Swann, Anderson, Cook, Bell, KP etc are no doubt some of the best players we've ever had.

But we need to rebuild, and it seems that the ECB see Cook as their golden boy, and they're standing by him and shoving aside the controversial but entertaining Pietersen. I keep saying it, mate. I enjoyed watching KP. He frustrated me, too. He was a maverick. The Gazza/Paddy McCourt figure of cricket, just as Warne was for Australia. And we'll miss his talents on the field. So I'm not siding with the ECB, or KP. But I'm certainly against Piers Morgan. He could tell me the sky is blue and I'd have to check. Plus, he's a lovely person. A proper lovely person.

Nobody would have an issue with you Phil if you merely stated how sad you were that KP has been retired/sacked etc.

I think you should move on, and remember cricket is a team sport. And that is why in my opinion, KP has got the bullet.

True. ECB have always expected players to be robots with no opinions of their own. It's why the likes of Boycott and Beefy have been ignored and had to find media jobs. KP was pissed off with losing every single match and spoke up about it. His passion was taken the wrong way by our underperforming captain that for an hobby loves to kill poor defenseless Deers. KP will have the last laugh reportedly ready to earn 3 million a year playing 20/20 around the world. Plus offers rolling in to do shows like Big Brother, Strictly etc.

Suppose it's down to personal preference isn't it? But as a kid I loved watching the likes of Botham, Gooch, Gower. And I'd suggest they were all better than KP. I am aware that in terms of 'stats' that might not be the case, but there's more to cricket than that.

As I got older my favourite batsman was Thorpe. He was part of a ***** England era to be fair but in my opinion he was better than KP. I also think Trescothick was a fantastic player.

But I did say in my other post that KP was without doubt one of our best ever. My point though was simple, and I've reiterated it so many times now, it is time to move on.

How will he be having the last laugh? He's been dumped by England so he is free to do as he pleases. I notice the last IPL team to sign him have decided they aren't interested, too much bother was the opinion I read.

His last IPL team (Dehli Daredevils) released all players at the end of last season - KP, along with all his old team mates, are in the auction for this season.

My point is I read they have said they won't be bidding for him. Don't know how true it is, but it was mentioned in one of the BBC articles.
