Luton got handed a massive points deduction for the misdemeanours of the previous owners, so I very much doubt Blackpool will be immune to punishment.
Some Sunderland fans are judging us solely on a 30 minute spell at their place, which is bonkers. We've both just played Wycombe, Accrington and Gillingham. We beat them all comfortably, they drew 2 and beat the third 4-2 after a few scares. It's a bit like our fans being over worried about Donny because they played well at Oakwell months ago. They got beat at Wimbledon yesterday.
Luton were effectively relegated 2 leagues because their new owners uncovered misdemeanours by the previous regime in my view it was a grossly unfair treatment handed out to a small unfashionable side. If Blackpool settle all their debts then maybe they could escape but if any are unpaid or reduced by a CVA then they have clearly gained an advantage and a points deduction is the only option for the EFL
Win, lose or draw we could still win automatic promotion. Win, lose or draw we could still end up in the play-offs. It's another game we try to win. Do so and it puts us in a great position. Lose and we're still in a great position. It's not monumental nor paramount to our season. It is, however, an exciting game. And it's a great test to see how good we are.
Only thing that concerns me is that it's a Tuesday night game and Rochdale apart we've been ***** in Tuesday night games all season.
Only thing that concerns me is the weather conditions. It’ll be a battle and I fear they are better equipped for that type of game.
Quite a few things of concern. I'm in the fear the worse and hope for the best camp but luckily it isnt the end of the world if they do beat us. We're more than capable of beating them if we keep our heads.
I dunno. If we can keep it on the floor, they might not live with our passing game. Plus we've a few not afraid to put a foot in when needed. I'm calling a draw.
Hmmm. Ball to feet short passing is less affected by wind which does affect the long ball passes, set pieces relying on headers etc. Why do you think wind helps Sunderland more than BFC? Genuine Question.
I just think such conditions make it more of a physical battle and the more lightweight players we have like Bahre and Green will struggle. Hope I’m wrong mind. Got to admit also that it doesn’t sit easy with me how confident everyone seems about our chances tonight. Experience tells me that often blows up in our faces. Promotion would be within our grasp if we win tonight. I’ve watched us for over 40 years and we never do things the easy way!!
Much more of a cant lose IMO. A win would be fantastic but a draw would do us fine. Especially as Sunderland still have to play Posh away and then Donny and Pompey at home which are 3 tricky games that they could easily drop points in.
Depends on direction? If they're kicking with the wind I could see them spending the first half booting it long, knock one or two in, then spending the second half kicking us off the park. It's a tactic that works, they're bigger than us (physically), and we're not very good at appealing to refs. Lyndsay needs to be on it tonight, could be a key player.
