Like others, I am surprised that so many high street travel agent shops still manage to exist given we mostly book online these days. I haven't used a travel agent store for over 15 years. Just hope the tour operator businesses themselves can manage to survive, although the govt are doing their level best to hinder them. TUI have over 2 grand of my money relating to this years holiday now moved to next year. Said to the missus earlier this week, the biggest risk for that holiday now is that TUI won't be around to honour it by next year and we will be joining a long queue for our money back via ATOL.
even with booking.com always go to the hotel direct once you’ve chosen, often they a very small % cheaper as they don’t have to give booking a cut
Me n the mrs booked with tui last march for this October to mauritius, we payed in full 12th july, only for them to cancel 4 days later. I find the fact they didnt know our holiday was unavailable till after we'd paid just a bit dodgy,
The world has gone nuts. Crazy scenes, yes people have died. But ffs.... what an over reaction this has been. The lost generation will now be the lost generations...... Government have a lot to answer for. Very very slow reaction and billions lost daily. As the saying goes.... to be a politician your wither a failed business person or you've never worked a proper job and grown up with a silver spoon, telling others what they can do with their lives. Time for a revolution. F the NWO....
That's what I said. I look around on the various sites and find the cheapest for that hotel. I then directly contact the hotel and say I've seen you on hotel.com at 60 euro a night so can you offer me a discount?... Got 20% discount on this one.
Also, if they won't discount it, you can get cashback from Quidco, TopCashback etc. when you buy online at most sites.
We're planning a long haul trip to Bali next year and have booked most of our hotels now, but all are free cancellation and pay at property. Stuff like this is a godsend, especially in this current climate.
Which part of Bali are you going? We had 2 nights in the south before we flew back home. And it felt hugely overdeveloped. Really enjoyed ubud though, and I’d thoroughly recommend the next island over, Lombok.
They're not sacking everyone. 630 out of 900 staff will be offered the same job, but working from home.
Really enjoyed ubud, something so peaceful about it. We hired a driver we found on tripadvisor and toured a bit for a day from ubud, some amazing waterfalls and temples and of course rice fields. We hopped a lot from island to island, the internal flights with garuda were dirt cheap. Borobudur near yogyakarta on Java was otherworldly, incredible temple.
