I’ve really enjoyed it. I know Cromwell was a nasty piece of work, but this shows him as a bloke with a world of responsibility and always looking over his shoulder. Probably always knew it could easily end badly for him.
Just finished watching the 3 part doc who killed Jill Dando, they'll never find who did, professional hit to order imo, so clean cut barely a scrap of evidence to go
Couldn't agree more. Rylance is sublime in this role. The whole production - with darkened rooms and corridors and the overbearing sense of doom/danger - is sensational. I've been drawn to re-reading the third volume in tandem with watching this final series. Mantel's writing was unique and atmospheric. An outstanding literary achievement, in my view. Rylance was terrific alongside Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies, to name but one role. I regret I didn't get to see him on stage in Jerusalem.
Another shout for Slow Horses, absolutely brilliant. And Black Doves, and Day of the Jackal, not quite as excellent as SH but very good nonetheless. Previously mentioned in this thread also, Mr Inbetween, very good. Just remembered another couple I watched a few months back, Atlanta, and Dave. Both well worth a watch.
The Old Man ( Jeff bridges) into its second series . Another vote for Silo , great ending to first series . Lincoln Lawyer and Will Trent are worth a watch
I’ve not seen anyone mention Dark on Netflix, probably the best thing I’ve seen in the last few years, absolutely mind blowing series.
Day of the Jackal is very decent. Something lighter would be ‘Only Child’. Very much in the mood of the brilliant’Two Doors Down’.
Rouge Hero’s on iplayer read book on holiday a few extra cast members on tv but in the main a very true account of the beginning of the SAS
