    If you have Netflix, you could give Glitch a try. It's an Australian supernatural/fantasy show with apocalyptic themes, particularly in the 3rd (final) series. Might not be everybody's cup of tea, but I quite enjoyed it.

    If you fancy something a bit different and don't mind subtitles, me and my missus have just binge watched the Are Murders. Here's a review:

    Netflix’s Best New Crime Show Is Here, And No Critics Have Seen It

    We tend to watch a lot of European stuff on C4's Walter Presents and have seen some good stuff. Quite a lot more grisly than your typical UK/US equivalent. Again, you have to not mind subs though!

    American Primeval, if you want something gritty, violent and gory. Excellent storyline too.
