Jordan RWB and Lopata in a 3 ,or back to a flat back four. We're getting mullered down the right whenever Cotter or Okeefe play there.
I think we’re a decent league one side but until we start to turn over the so called better sides in this league then i think we miss out on top six unfortunately. We look really vulnerable at the back against teams with decent movement like yesterday proved especially first half.
Lest we forget. Roberts and McCART is on loan from Rotherham currently bottom of the championship, Lopata from lower league, Cundy (permanently injured) Mc Carthy(the invisible man) in defence with Maël and Jordan Williams.Meanwhile our strikers Oli Shaw and Andy Dallas(24 and 25 years old) are both on loan in the Scottish league and neither are starting for their teams. Hands up if you really think the current board are going to spend serious money on the team to make us championship contenders. No chance......(not being pessimistic just realistic)
By serious money, what do you mean? I think they'll buy a centre back in January, it's clearly our most needed position.
Any money at all to be honest. More interested saving it than investing in experienced players who are proven at a higher level. They tend to go for quantity rather than quality.
But they've saved nothing mate, they've lost millions up until recently. Makes no sense for them not to invest some of that incoming money to improve the squad, because if their apparent reason is solely to earn money regardless of what the club wants/needs, it's pointless doing that in league one.
I get the bit about not beating the top teams, but with 26 more games to go, there’s nothing to say we won’t. Saturday would be a great day to start Last season I remember coming away from Pride Park after the FA Cup game feeling very down about our playoff chances, as Derby were up there as well, and we’d been outplayed - again. The winning run made the difference last season, because before it we were just like we are now, and between that run and the playoffs we were pretty poor. Lost to both Posh and Ipswich then - we didn’t go into the playoffs in any kind of form.
I've come to the conclusion with combination of poor recruitment and players who's hearts arnt in it we have very little chance of getting promoted this season. If that's the case are we better off cashing in on the ones who want out chalking stuff on this season and having a few more quid for the rebuild in the summer. I understand that's really negative but they are going to leave anyway no chance any of them signing new contracts. That then leaves one question do we trust Collins with a new set of player's jury's still out for me but is it fair to judge him with this set of players. I hope I'm wrong but I agree with the sentiment that we can beat the rubbish but as soon as we come up a team that can move the ball quickly and with abit of quality we can't cope sadly.
Any head coach at BFC as a tough gig. Best players will ultimately be sold. Decent players in last year of contract, will be looking to move on. Owners will be looking to bring in players with a re sale value. We won't ever go bust ,is a silver lining . However the ambition of contenders to get back to the top flight diminished a while ago.
That £8m and fact that one of the players weren’t even ours might’ve swayed that decision unfortunately
There in lies the problem point 1 and 2 is part of the problem this season you have the core of the team Williams ,Kane and Cole who have seen players in there position sold I understand the club will say value weren't met if any interest but it's going to cause unrest, there's was a interview with Connor Chaplin saying the player are seen as commodities that's why players can't wait to move on. You add on the model puts massive pressure on recruitment with loads of players contract running out at the same time ,the laws of average says we going to get it very wrong at some point
Total rebuild needed, again. Recruitment policy needs tweeking, we need to sign at least a couple of players with strong influential personalities, we seem to be lacking that big style this season.
Awful against better teams in div, beat the dross, said weeks ago Collins is a turd you can not polish. Should of got rid weeks ago. If he loses to Stevenage he has to go
I'm no fan of his, but there's no way he's getting sacked if we lose to a team who are 2nd in the last 6 form table (we're 13th). They are the 7th best team away and we are 14th best at home and we are yet to beat a team in the top half (Northampton were 18th when we beat them). I never bet on our games, but if I did, I know who I'd put my money on to win. But the bookies inexplicably have us as 5/4 favourites, so what do I know.
