West Brom & Burnley both keen on him. To be fair he'd suit both of them clubs & id imagine would earn close to 10 times what he'll be on with us. I can't begrudge any player leaving us for a premiership club especially one that aren't a rival of ours.
Yes Jack Tatty. It was when we were getting the Johnstone's Paint Trophy souvenir book autographed last season. I'm married to a Wednesdayite for my sins and my husband was helping me getting another book signed. When collecting Mark's autograph in the book, I jokingly said , "Watch him, he's a Wednesdayite! " He replied "Is he? nice one Mate, so am !" I was a bit stunned at the time but he and hubby were chatting about Wednesday for a couple of mins! Always gave his all for Barnsley . Loved him.
Burnley. Looks like it comes from the Guardian's deputy sports editor, so unfortunately might have legs..
Burnley. £3.5 million. Guardian sports editor. Also reporting that Norwich have bid £1.5 million for MacDonald.
£3.5m plus Kevin Long I could just about stomach. This last week or so is surreal ....... it's like an unwinding nightmare episode of Sherlock. All our players leave, we have to play reserves, Hecky goes to Forest wearing a Thatcher t-shirt, the club is worth millions all of a sudden but Patrick turns out to be a Moriarty type figure who takes the money with an evil grin and buys into Leeds with Mycroft (Cellino). Wake me up in February
£3.5M and Kevin Long for rest of season wouldn't be end of the world as long as we invest it back into the club.
I completely agree. When you consider the huge transfer fees bandied around though, I do feel we're going to be very short changed. Still, we paid next to nowt for him, so in that sense it'll be a huge profit, but one which could prove extremely costly. Been a rock for us. Maybe we could use the money to buy back Alfie
buy , improve and sell on. we were told thats the clubs vision and so far its gone ok. we need to trust the club have either already bought suitable replacements (debatable on evidence) or have plans in place to get some some in quick !!
We can't be very self-sufficient without any players. Surely there must be a line, after which incoming transfer fees do get invested back into the team.
agree. Has it been too successful? Or is the last 6 months just a one off? Cos we can't buy / develop / sell on EVERY player EVERY window. There'll be just zero continuity. There has to be a balance somewhere. I continue to trust "hem", whoever "them" are, because PC is on his sickbed on LB is long gone. My guess is that I am trusting Maurice and Hecky.
