Yes I have heard that, but not from the club or from a reputable reporter , its just fans speculation until it comes from the club , the trouble is that some fans jump on every rumour & treat it as fact , why fans do not wait for official statements is pretty obvious, but daft really .
The obvious answer is that the next official statement is going to be along the lines of either "Alex Mowatt has departed the club for Millwall. We would like to place on record our thanks to Alex, and wish him all the best for the future," or "Today Alex Mowatt has signed a new three-year contract with the Reds - retweet this for a chance of winning his signed shirt." If we didn't discuss anything between the official statements then there'd be no BBS!
To avoid relegation next season. Mowatt is leaving, either this month or in the summer. We can take the money and try to replace him in a season when we've already got a decent number of points on the board, or not replace him and hope for the best next season. Easy decision for me.
Very much doubt 50% more like 15% 20% most we paid 500k for him he was really out of favor at Leeds at the time and struggled here untill stendel took over.
I think if a player at another club, with mowatt’s record was available for 1.2m, we’d be wondering why we weren’t in for him.
Thats true but one (unsubstantiated) rumour on twitter and the BBS seems to go into meltdown Not sure why people seem to take these tweets as gospel. I'd get it if it was from actual reputable sources but so often its not and just leads to a load of people slating the club
25 years old. Over 250 senior appearances, over half of those in the second tier. 4 goals this season from midfield, all from open play with half the season yet to play. If Wycombe had a player with that profile available for less than we paid for Herbie Kane, we’d be all over it. You might not rate him, but that’s your opinion. I think if a bid of 1.2, or even 1.5 comes in, we turn it down. If a club really wants him, they’ll make an improved bid. If not, it will give the player something to think about in contract negotiations
Well that’s all fine, but if you read the post I replied to, you’ll see we weren’t talking about Mowatt.
If we are to sell Mowatt we should have kept James. Losing both your first choice centre mids isn’t a great policy.
Apologies if I've misread. I was responding to the line " if somebody pays £1.2m for Mowatt, we’ve had their pants down."
I just meant that £1.2 m is a lot of money for 3 to 4 months when he’d be free. I do rate him by the way.
