RE: You really whinge for the sake of it dont you? ...........Tykeman I agree that we need an academy and I would be giving Atkinson a game because when I have seen him he has looked quality. Reminded me of Scott Jones who was probably before your time. You havent answered mine - Do you not want us to sign better players than we currently have? If the answer is no then you know nothing and if the answer is yes then you agree with me. Rossi is not an experienced player. End of. You cant say that he is experienced with so few games under his belt.
RE: We need EXPERIENCE - not another youngster. Don't care if he is a kid, so long as he does the job should he come. Curtis... Was a kid, Watts.... Was a kid
And another other thing..................Tykeman This shows that there is no joined up thinking from AR or the directors of the club Shep - we have plenty of cover at the back and young Atkinson is coming through A few weeks later - we are looking at an inexperienced young central defender from Man U So we have........ Directors, money to spend on wages / AR, no money to spend on wages Directors, we need more players / AR, we dont need more players Directors, we need the academy / AR, we dont need the academy (judgeing on todays announcments) The club is all over the piano Or it seems to be from the publics and fans point of veiw
there is a BIG difference between Shawcross and Rossi One has proven himself to have the ability, the other one has not. As such Shawcross can only be classed as a liability and just as much a risk as our own academy players are.</p> Are BFC willing to risk championship survival on yet another young player with no experience? If we are then shouldn't that risk be taken with a player that is already on our books, won't cost us any extra and if it pays off will actually give us a better player at the end of it rather than just increasing the value of another teams player for them like we did with Michael Chopra?</p>
I'm not the only one thinking that huge steps backwards have been taken since Cardiff in May then? And by that I mean in the stability of the club and the relationship between the fans and club.
We once went for experience Flynn, Chettle, Donovan, Sheron, Gibbs....... Came for the money, not to play their hearts out for the club. Bugger experience.
RE: We once went for experience To be fair the club can't win. Too many fans are quick to jump on there backs whatever decision they make. Yes we need some players adding to the squad, but I only want players that are going to improve the squad not just the same level. Now if that means a 17,18, or 19 year old then so be it.
To be fair............ AR should walk into the academy and say 'reight lads, pack yer bags, yer out, try to find a job as a brickies labourer cos there int any point hanging abart here' And that would be fair to the young lads at the club As a club we can then go out and pick and choose which young player we can bring in. Without the academy round the neck of the club we can also attract more experienced players to the club cos we have more money available to spend on wages
RE: I'm not the only one thinking that huge steps backwards have been taken since Cardiff in May th On what basis? Signing McIndoe and Togwell backward steps?
RE: To be fair............ Does anybody even know how much money would be saved if we dropped the acadamy status? I suspect it wouldn't be an awful lot.
RE: To be fair............ It apparently is not a lot as you suspect. At a supporters meeting last season it said the difference was not that big.
RE: I'm not the only one thinking that huge steps backwards have been taken since Cardiff in May th Do you read E=MC2 as E=M?</p> Only you've just done a really good job of only reading half of a post and totally changing the meaning of it.</p>
RE: I'm not the only one thinking that huge steps backwards have been taken since Cardiff in May th Sounds like the majority of people on here!!
Inexperience v experience If this young guy is any good he will not be stopping at the WELL eg Chopra So we are willing to risk an inexperienced player in the first team when we have an inexperienced player in the academy that is supposed to be ok Just dunt add up to me this If we were bringing in an inexperienced player permanently - can understand that If we were bringing in an experienced player - great But an inexperienced player so Man United can get him experience of first team football While we all hold our breath hoping he dosen't drop a bollock - dunt understand that
RE: Inexperience v experience BUT he might be inexperienced, same as the lad in the academy BUT he is prob a better player than the one we have in the academy. I understand what you are saying about academy, but end of the day football is a cruel business. If this alleged Man U player is better than what we have in the reserves / accademy then get him down to Oakwell. I personally don't care if he stays for 3 months and we never hear from him again, so long he helps us pick up 3 points a game. Btw, Rossi is an inexperienced player.
no you don't...........Tykeman...............Young Players v MONEY You don't read ALL of the message And as proof You mention the money part of the academy But you don't say anything about being fair to the young guys in the academy Cannon fodder I suppose
