Are you a racist? Genuine question.

So Wlad isn't half decent now? He was unbeaten in nine years. And not many gave Tyson a chance, let alone on the judges scorecards, unanimously. But I'm sure that yes, one day someone will beat him, and maybe systematically as you suggest. It's boxing. It's very rare you get an unbeaten champion, such as Calzaghe.

Where did I say everyone should ignore what he says?

I said he'd done something unbelievable and the rest's irrelevant. Because to me he's just a boxer. A boxer I've enjoyed watching from his first pro fight who I thought was destined for the top. I'm chuffed then that he did what he did on Saturday night and I hope he continues to prove the doubters wrong and eventually gets the credit his achievements will deserve.

Had Haye/AJ done what he did on Saturday they'd be receiving rapturous fanfare, the papers would be lauding them as some kind of hero for defeating the mighty Wlad. But because Tyson's done it, that makes Wlad a poor fighter all of a sudden and people choose to focus on 'other' stuff.

Fury acts up for the cameras. He says a lot of controversial stuff, admittedly. But what's he actually done that's so wrong? Be born into a travelling family?

    Who said these things?

"The original race, the black race of man is superior, especially to the white man."

"Integration is wrong. We don't want to live with the white man."

"No intelligent black man or woman wants white boys or girls coming to their houses to marry their black sons or daughters."

"All jews and gentiles are devils. Blacks aren't devils. Everything blacks do wrong comes from the white man. Drinking, smoking, prostitution, homosexuality, stealing, gambling. It all comes from them."

"A black man should be killed for messing with a white woman."

Yes. Muhammad Ali. He said all that. And he was/is revered as one of the greatest sportsmen of all time. Rightly so. And it's his sporting achievements I admire, just as I admire Fury's. Of course I don't agree with everything he says, but he's just a boxer. I'm not looking to him for advice or guidance or to be a role model.

Not everyone's cuppa tea but he has grown on me and people slating him now saying vlad has got old no one was saying that a week back everyone thought fury would get hammered. Be interesting to see how long he stays at the top Joshua not ready for him yet he would beat wilder and haye now imo.
Paulo di canio was a top footballer (when he was at West ham) I used to love watching him but I don't share his views on politics ect. Same as tyson and like he said in a interview yesterday if you don't like what he saying don't listen and turn off.

Would you be happy if we signed Ched Evans on the basis that he's a footballer and everything else is irrelevant?

I resent the attempt to imply that I'm taking issue with Fury because he's from a gypsy family. I couldn't give a fvck what his lineage is. I can also accept some element of bell-endery as part and parcel of the modern pay per view model of boxing. I don't dislike him because he's a gobshite, in fact I found it funny when he turned up as batman and when he sang in the ring. What I take issue with is him suggesting that allowing gays to marry is a pillar of the apocalypse and similar to paedophilia.

Yeah I don't like him because of jealousy.. Or maybe the view that homosexuality is like paedophilia and should be banned is absolutely abhorrent and has no place in 2015.

I'm a bit pissed off with how the media's treating Fury. I've been a critic in the past & he's said plenty of daft things but he's never harmed anyone & what really winds me up is the treatment compared to others.

    Ali - Racist, Woman beater

Tyson - Rapist & bit someone's ear off

Joshua - Drug dealer & banned from his own town at one point for violent behaviour.

And then the biggest media darling of them all Ryan Giggs. All these journalists bigging him up a few years back for been SPOTY when it was common knowledge in the media that he'd been at it with his sister in law for 8 years.

    Hypocrites most of them

He didn't say it was similar to paedophilia. He said legalised abortions, legalised gay marriage and legalized paedophilia were said to be signs of the apocalypse. And that the first two had happened. The conversation was about the state of the world. He went on to say he isn't homophobic and said that paedophiles should be put in a small room with him so he could give them a good hiding. Or words to that effect.

End of the day, he's a big gobbed boxer. Nowt new there.

But he's achieved something very special. Hats off to him. As Django pointed above, the likes of Tyson, Ali and even Haye and Joshua have dark sides to them.

And no, I wouldn't want Evans here. Because he's a convicted rapist. Whereas Fury isn't, and from what I can gather has said summat controversial and nothing more. Not even a comparison is there?

The comparison is that you said of fury that only what he achieves in the ring matters which logically can be extended to Evans. In reality you meant as long as he doesn't break the law then in the ring is all that matters. And there ends the comparison.

Personally I think he's a religious nutjob as dangerous as any mulim fanatic

The rest is irrelevant, is what I said. The rest being his choice comments about the apocalypse. He's a boxer, I was lauding his achievement as a boxer. I find his controversial (to some) comments irrelevant.

The Evans comparison doesn't work. He's a convicted rapist.
