Was at the game. Good entertaining game. Chuffed for youngens. The team was absolutely buzzing. Well done REDS!
Well done young Reds and everyone else involved. It will be good for us if some make it as first team regulars one day.
There was some seriously talented players on view today. Not sure about the officials probably league 1 level.
Just got back in from this - what an entertaining roller-coaster of a game and well done our young Reds for coming through in the end and getting the win that your season deserved. Some really impressive performances. For Charlton I'd pick out their winger number 7, their captain in midfield number 8 and their keeper who made a string of saves. For Barnsley, the captain Bland and the Trialist number 4 were rocks at the back, I thought both our wing-backs, McKay and Pickard looked lively and quick going forward, Jalo was a constant threat throughout and unlucky not to score and Chapman, the number 10, ran the first half before tiring in the second. Fortunately, we had two big strikers to bring on who gave us a 'plan B' enabling us to get the second equaliser. Everyone in a red shirt that I've not mentioned worked tirelessly and got some big tackles in. The penalties were really impressive - not one of them looked like missing. I suppose it comes down to how they develop now, both physically and in terms of attitude, but there's certainly a load of talent there to work with, Well done all of them!
Good win. Well done young uns. Hit bar, that would have made it 2-0. But some credit must go to Charlton also. Some decent young uns on show. And for the first 15 minutes looked by far the better team. Then Barnsley got a grip on the game and could have been 3-0 up b4 they equalised. I thought the ref overall was pretty decent tbh. The offside free kick was a bit of farce. (Laughable even) given where they took it from lol. But the lino got the call right. He got the referee to make the right decision. Bit of a communication mix up imo. Charlton in the latter stages got away with a few crude challenges.
