I get the feeling that LJ doesn't rate Abbott at all, whichh is a shame as I quite like him from the couple of times I've seen him.

It'd be good to see Digby and White on the bench on sat. Hope Cowgill and templeton get a look in too!

1-0 at half time with Digby holding and Abbott breaking. Swapped roles at half times and it transformed the performance which had been OK in the first half but nothing more. Murdered Forest in the second half. Most accomplished player on the pitch by a country mile was James Bree.

Problem is these young lads should be able to go j to the first team and be helped by some older heads with experience, but the first team is just more kids

I'd like to see Templeton get a crack in the first team. I never attend u21 games, in fact the last one I went to featured Jeronimo so I've not seen Templeton personally but he gets plenty of praise off of mates who've seen him

That was one of the best performances i've seen from a youth team yesterday. They all understand each others games. It was really good to see Smith and Bree play with them too.

I've seen them play with ''Older heads'' and play ****. One of the worst performances i've seen at that level against Preston on the 4G was with older heads. Preston u18's made them look rather silly.

It wasn't first team football though was it. It was kids against kids in a practice match

in your time away you still didn't learn how to read people's posts before replying did you. I'm talking about coming into the first team and being helped by decent experienced pros who can tell them where are going wrong and encourage them etc while playing in the First team. Not playing with a few older blokes in the u21s

I really don't get the obsession over these older heads as you say. 99% of older players that will play in league one will only ever bring a negative losing mentality and thats what he got last season when someone thought it was a great idea to bring in the likes of Lita ,Treacy and Turnbull to the club.

Also whilst watching other sports it's not been a good idea. From F1 to cricket. Torro Rosso's Verstappen came out with the most awards last week at the motor awards. Why was this? because hes got a fresh approach and doesn't have the negatives of the ''Older heads'' around him.

I think you're confusing old with experienced.

Verstapen was ****. Only talked up BECAUSE of his age. Oh look little 17 year old Verstappen is driving a brum brum. So what? Everyone else on the track is too.

If he was 30 and performing like he was he would be written off as yet another no hoper

He won rookie of the year. Of course he did. He won it BECAUSE of his age.
He won personality of the year. Of course he did? the media were all over him from day one. That means nothing on track.

And he got an award for an illegal overtake. Wow. That's like giving maradonna the best goal award

Your obsessed with the academy players. but again as usual you completely miss the point. You dont even read what people post you just put you opinion over the top of other people even though its not what i am saying.

Im all for the young lads getting a chance, would great if 5 or 6 of the academy make it. The point I am making and theone that you keep missing is, once in the first team sometimes these players need some guidance, some one to encourage them if they make a mistake, someone push them into the correct position, someone to kick a lump out of a player who as just fouled a young un. There are hundreds of reasons a young lad making the step up can be helped by a couple of GOOD experienced players on the pitch. no one mentioned tracey or lita or lawrence, turnbull etc. But just because them such players didn't do it on the pitch doesn't mean they cant be of help to a young lads development.

My original reply just stated that these players have no one to learn from, ask John Stones if he learnt anything from the experienced players who were at the club, no doubt bobby Hassell was a great help to him

I'm confused... Why would 99% of older league one players have a negative losing mentality?
