Oh yeah sorry that reads wrong. I didn't mean I've never seen them have a good game unless he's playing I meant even taking him out I've never seen the other two play well together.

Williams and Gardner = no good games
Williams and moncur = no good games
Williams, Gardner and moncur = no good games.

A shame really as I think Williams is a good player who gives his all but just isn't quite ready to do the job he's been asked to do week in week out and the others don't seem to be able to link up with him well

Moncs ahead of Mallan is surprising, but didn't expect us to start too many of the new lads beyond Mills and Pinillos. Fair dos to give Townsend his opportunity and Davies a rest. When you consider we have Isgrove and Knasmullner to bring in still, I'm optimistic the goals will come.

That's a very strong bench. Makes a nice change from it being full of kids (not that I don't want them to have a chance but you know what I mean).

No its not the same as always but I was looking forward to seeing mcburnie in place of Bradshaw, mahoney for moncur and maybe mallan retain his place ahead of Williams. Let's see how it goes but next week it will also be good to see knasmuller start. For me it was new signings new hopes for the rest of the season and this game is winnable and the start of that.

Well Knasmullner has to be in the country to play!

Mahoney hasn't played for yonks so not surprised to see him not start

Can't see out of the three of them who you would put out wide? Agree Mallan has done OK, but Williams & Gardner is a no-brainer.

Mallan fresh legs after 60 mins.

Can only be Moncs can't it? In a 442 Hedges would have been my call there but Paul's our manager and in his judgement we have to trust.

Whilst not Moncur's biggest fan, i think i'm yet to see Hedges play well from a start.

Well me and my absent brain believe that Gardner and Williams together is defensive dull defeatist depressing and destined to derive defeat.

With 2 up front. I don't think so.

Can only think that he's concerned about keeping tight on Freeman if he's on his game rather than going for two out-and-out wingmen.

To be fair 2nd half we were under the cosh almost non stop. He had a totally different role and struggled. Did quite well for once when we were on the front foot first half

Maybe the thinking is that too much change all at once will lead to confusion and a lack of cohesion (more so than usual!).

Indeed we've seen Gardner getting forward with more regularity since Christmas. Williams was our best CM for most of the first half of the season but his performances were tailing off of late - hopefully his enforced spell out will see him back and refreshed.

I actually saw his run across the width of the pitch to close down so a definite improvement

    Cant disagree.

Shows hes a forward player and not one when its backs against the wall

    Davies hasn’t kept his place.

William hasn’t been awful for months & has been better than Mallan.

Can’t see the point in throwing McBurnie & Mahoney straight in as starters when Bradshaw & Moore did so well together first half last week & they’ll have only had one training session with the squad before going to London.

    So basically couldn’t disagree more

Regardless of whether Hedges is good enough to start a game, its still not right that we're now sticking Moncur out on the wing. That position surely belongs to Potts!!. :D
