Boa Moarte has been first team coach at Everton and Fulham with Marco Silva, that's enough for me. He doesn't need to have been a mgr, that's not what we employ, we employ a first team coach. Also I'd expect him to have decent contacts in the game. He'd be my first choice right now. Not averse to Flynn tho if that happened, he's shown promise and has twice just missed getting Newport into L1.
Don't buy in to this really. We employ someone to manage a group of players. They do everything a manager would do outside of being involved in the initial scouting and recruitment of players, or any of the admin heavy general management, that then allows you to focus on the first team. They still need to instill a togetherness, lead, deploy tactics, pick a team, understand opponents. First Team Coaches support a Head Coach to do that. Not every First Team Coach is capable of making the step up to Head Coach, and a Head Coach will always have a First Team Coach. Silva is doing ok at Fulham right now, with arguably the best squad in the division, but he was a disaster at Everton.
I’m not into betting at all but I had a shufty at the latest odds earlier on and this Mike Flynn chap now appears to be a very short favourite at 1-3 for the Barnsley job
