Thank You DiscoTyke For The Post I'm having a reight laugh at people slagging him off before we have even signed him or seen him play.
Youtube clips of a player scoring lots of goals They will always, always look good. A local Sunday league striker who has only scored 10 goals in his whole career will look good if you put those ten goals on a show reel.
from the Guatemalan Times..Gumbo Manuelo of Guatemala Ceeety is alledgedly in talks with a massive club in yorkshireland Great Britain...Barnsley is the capital of yorkshireland and has a proud history of one season in the premier league..Gumbo, despite his lack of technical ability says he is looking forward to earning 3000 pounds a week in yorkshireland..
RE: Thank You DiscoTyke For The Post Maybe if there was a bit more analysis of these targets beforehand by those at S71 1ET, we wouldn't sign so many duff strikers.
RE: Youtube clips of a player scoring lots of goals Not neccessarily. Looking at the U tube clips, the way he scores his goals is quite impressive. He seems to run at defenses and he keeps very composed when on a 1-1 with the keeper. Plus he can score with his head and with shots outside the box. He seems to get in the right places, and he does look as if he knows what he is doing.
I refer the right honourable gentleman... ...to these YouTube clips http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pRuyP-P4aYk
I raised the very same point in a conversation yesterday pal.. They do manage to draft in a few known names that can do the bizz at this level... Roy O Donavan Stephen McPhee DJ Campbell David Vaughan Ian Harte Stephen Crainey Then when you look at the likes of Wellens and Hoolahan who they've developed and subsiquantly lost, they don't do bad for a small skint team with a shitty little dirty horrible ground, but what they do have in Tony Parks is an experienced established coach with a record in the top division which would automattically earn the respect of potential targets for Blackpool. We are definately more financially stable, have better facilities, are better placed geographically and accessable from most areas within 2 hours. So why can't we do it? Two words - Simon who? When Bassett was here we signed former a former England Player as well as established, experienced Premiership players in the likes of Geoff Thomas Ian Woan Neil Shipperley Steve Chettle We got those players purely on the basis of Bassett's respect and remember the players listed may not be everyone's cup of tea but we were 90mins from returning to the Premiership! When Hendrie was in charge, he didn't have the managerial experience but had massive respect in the game as a player and that enabled us to sign the likes of Craig Hignett and Kevin Richardson etc.. Quality players with experience and ability. All we can hope for under the current regime is bringing through the likes of Adam and Butterfield (if they are'nt released on frees!) and signing promising 4th division youths or foreign journeymen that don't give a **** about us (Ferenczi excluded from that comment). Now the Save Davey campaign will shoot me down for this but all we are going to be in the near future is a decent League One side with not much to look forward to.
How can you be sure.... ...that we'll be a decent League 1 side. Do you think that we will hold on to the few good players if we go down because I dont. If present habits are maintained we will then start signing Conference and Blue Square North players with everything that brings but hey, we'll still have a club. For a couple of years at least.
Chettle, Woan...hmmm were they not abject *****? Woan...two games, fecked him off quick sticks Chettle..De Zeeuw...? Chettle..De Zeeuw...? Chettle..De Zeeuw...? Chettle..De Zeeuw...? Chettle..De Zeeuw...? hmmm...which one would I have liked??? Thomas wasn't much cop either
In fact come to think of it the highly experienced Bassett releasing Arjan De Zeeuw could be considered one of the biggest **** ups in BFC transfer history
what about the following season and who signed Hignett? Would we have done as well without his 20 odd goals? And the season after...54 points..5 points clear of relegation...hmmmm
RE: what about the following season Bassett made poor signings pretty much from the start and then went mental the season after Lee Jones, Carl Regan, Alex Neil all utter ***** The wheels were already in motion when S******n came in and P****n finished the job off
How do you know he is not good enough? I'm not having a go at you. I just don't understand how you "know" he is ***** before he has had a chance. I suspect you may be right, but how do you "know"?
RE: How do you know he is not good enough? you just have to look at the clubs he has played at and the standard of football if he was any good, by this stage in his career someone would have taken a punt on him and they haven't
It is the same with just about every player we are linked with Most people on here assume that a player we have never heard of must be *****. Why? Even Christiano Ronaldo was an unknown at one stage in his career and someone took a chance on him. However, I tend to agree this guy maybe should have been spotted by now. That said, there are other reasons why good players from abroad may not make it apart from ability. For example, language and culture difficulties, homesickness, missing family etc etc. Maybe this guy settles here and turn out to be a good player, we just don't know. Anyway if we do sign him I hope we give him at least half a dozen games before getting on his back. Some people on here are on his back already before he has even signed.
