Update on my trans thread from a couple of months ago

You are a very brave individual and I dare say a very pleasant person, the people that find bullying and sneering gratifying are so far beneath you they almost become worthless, your life and the good your life brings to the world is beyond question, be brave, be honest, be yourself and **** em.

 

You don’t have to be LGBT or whatever to be a victim of homophobia. Some friends & myself got into all sorts of scrapes just for being ‘different’.
I like to think society has grown up, but it still saddens me there are still such tossers around. Thing I realised over the years, is that abuse generally stems from the individual’s own insecurities.
Good luck mate. It did make me chuckle that the BBS suggested ‘transfer news’ as a similar thread. Not about to sign for the Reds, are you?

 

7 years is a shocking waiting time.

As for the idiots who physically and verbally assault you, I really do feel sorry for them. If they are so insecure and threatened by you and other trans people, then they need to take a good hard look at themselves. I'd even be willing to bet that some did what they did as they are confused about their own gender/sexuality, and by attacking you they are telling themselves that they are manly and masculine.

Just keep being you. That is all that matters...

 

Just a quick comment. Are you able or willing to have treatments elsewhere? You are now able to choose where you have treatments so it doesn’t have to be Barnsley.

apparently London waiting times are generally 3 years. Still not great but still much quicker than the 7 years you cited.

a bit of research and you might find shorter lead times in other NHS trusts as long as you can get to them.

I try to make light of situations and if I've overstepped the mark I apologise again.

If I were Gravy I'm still the same person and I wouldn't want people scared to say the wrong thing. I don't think you can have that if you want true acceptance.

 

You don’t have to apologise to me at all but it’s polite to call ppl by there name and there’s making light of a situation then there is being disrespectful.. you should use correct names and pronouns!! Also caitlyn Jenner is an unbelievable human being

 

It's just like racism to me all this crap about singling people out because they dont fit a mode or a 'norm'. Some people are so unbelievably bigoted, uncaring and, for want of a better word, thick. We are all different are we not? If anyone wants to pick on me for being 'different' they would find it extremely easy.
It's all ******** to me. So, Gravy Chips, although I dont know you, if I spot someone walking down Sheffield Road who looks 'different' I'm coming over, introducing myself and taking you for a pint. Cheers.

I think with Johnson we are heading to a country that is so mixed up, that a fascist dictatorship will ensue, unless enough people wake up. Oh the "Woke", not the "Wake", the seminal electro indie outfit.

 

I don't get how someone can single me out about pronouns then use lower case when writing the examples name. Unless they're just being a ****.

She is great Caitlyn Jenner. Her Piers Morgan interview for Life Stories was so interesting and had Daley Thompson calling her his hero.

What I find interesting is 4 years being the usual wait and because of covid it's now 7 years. I have no idea if 7 years is long enough or if 4 is still too long.

Another good story is that of Georgie Stone who's in Neighbours and her mum wrote a book about it you can get on Amazon.

Interesting. didn't realise that the BBS swear filter was changed from "lovely person" to "unbelievable human being", because that's the only explanation for this post.

@Gravy Chips I hope that you are keeping your chin up and chatting to folks that can help you persist and maintain strength in your steps ahead. I keep my fingers crossed that they are being overly cautious with waiting times are you are able to start your chosen treatment soon.
