You should be able to buy an OAP ticket in that case. I can't see them asking you at City for ID to prove you are 65. But there needs to be a rule in place to prevent people like Hemsy from using his grandad's ST for somebody else who isn't a ST holder to get a ticket at the expense of another ST holder. Like I said earlier, ST's ARE NON TRANSFERRABLE. And it needs enforcing on occasions like this. Like Mr C says the disparity in the age of concessions is the club's problem.

What a loser you are at times HT. Gonna throw your teddy out of the pram because the club are enforcing the rules correctly. Pathetic really.

I can fully understand why they are doing it. It is hardly fair if somebloke got a free U11 ticket just so he got an empty seat next to him, and then he uses it to get a cup ticket for his mate. But the 8 yearold i take (my nephew) is the collateral damage here. Maybe my brother-in-law will let him go without one of his parents. But the club cant have rules for individuals, and I accept that. Its a shame they cant see that all the tickets are used on a regulalr basis, but with our antiquated turnstyles, they have no way of knowing that, as i doubt they look through the 7000 stubs each match and log which are and are not being used.

But will it be same for over prices so OAP ticket with OAP st and Adult ticket with an adult season ticket so nobody can upgrade or downgrade for a ticket that doesn't match the season ticket booklet being used for that ticket?

    For f*ck's sake!

Are people really this dense? The club gets slagged off a lot on here for some stupid things, but this is too stupid for words.

The whole problem with ticket allocation for big matches like this are that it is not possible to come up with a system that pleases everyone. So there has to be a certain reliance on the good folk of Barnsley to be self-policing and stick to the rules. If that is done for the Man City match there would be tickets available for general sale, because I have no doubt that no more than 60% of season ticket holders will actually want to go and I suspect it is a lot lower than that. As a large percentage of season ticket holders make up the centenary society members too, that category shouldn't see the tickets sell out. However, if people use other peoples' season tickets for their mates then we will have a problem.

So you are openly trying to ignore the rules, but then blaming the club when you can't get away with it.

I understand that you are unhappy because the club let you get away with it for the last game, but won't let you get away with it this time. The reason for this is that we were not going to sell out at MK Dons, so people moving up categories in this way wasn't an issue. We will sell out at Man City and, as you have seen on here, there has been some strong feeling about people abusing the system for previous big games and fans who genuinely have a case for a ticket (i.e. those in the lower categories) missing out. With this in mind the club have to stick to the rules.

So you have two ways of looking at it. I would consider that for the last round you owe the club your thanks for bending the rules to allow you to do what you did. They didn't need to and could have told you to come back when the tickets go on general sale, but they realised the tickets were not going to sell out so they did you a favour. The other way of looking at it is taking for granted the way they helped you out last time and then throwing a strop when they can't do it when the demand for tickets prevent it. Hey, you've even gone one step further by deciding that if you can't have the rules bent for you so that you can do what many people on here have been criticising people for and getting a ticket for a mate who doesn't belong to that category, then you will buy a ticket out of spite, preventing a genuine fan from being able to use that seat.

    Grow up!

Phil you keep going on about changing an OAP ticket to an adult one; why are you so bothered about it when you have your own season ticket.

Oh and well done to the club for this policy.

You're just a wind up merchant Phil. You're rambling on and on about a policy without any reason at all. Just STFU for gods sake.

Why did you have to upgrade your Grandads season ticket for MK when we were never going to sell out

I've read this thread from start to finish.

I'm going to read it again in the morning just to make sure I've not gone off my trotter after a hard day.

Please don't edit it in the meantime or that will confuse me even more.

Maybe Hemsworth Tyke is a visionary. If we all bought tickets out of spite the club would be a lot better off.

One of the staff is rude to you while buying tickets - buy an extra ticket out of spite and throw it away.
You buy a pie at half time but it's cold and soggy - buy a match ticket out of spite and burn it.
Dagnall shins an open net well wide - buy a match ticket out of spite and throw it down the bog.
Don Rowing does what Don Rowing does - buy a match ticket out of spite and rip it up.

If we all followed Hemsworth's example we'd be the money bags of the division. He's the one in the right on this, not us.

No offence Hemsio, but does your Mam know you are planning to waste her money this way?

    Someone had to ask.... [IMG]

As promised I've read this again. I think Jay has explained it perfectly.
