Foxes are not actually animals though. They're just made of straw and don't feel pain. It's true, the Countryside Alliance told me so. They're also responsible for all infant cot death, as they steal their breath and use it to breed evil. Courtesy of Feb's CA Newsletter

I know Michael J Fox is struggling these days but hunting him seems a bit extreme.

I would have liked to have hunted Sam Fox down in 1988.

Could have saved her from her Brit awards humiliation with Mick Fleetwood.

You can hire people to come and humanly remove foxes if they are a nuisance, some friends of ours clubbed together with neighbours to get rid of a bunch of foxes which had been living in the area and being encouraged by a different neighbour actually feeding them!!! Councils generally won't pay for it though so you have to stump up the cash. Also what is it with people who feed pests? Whenever I see someone feeding pigeons I get this overwhelming urge to punch them.

    Re: Its only barbaric

He's not a real GP, you know.

I just hope Sam Fox, the large breasted lesbian page 3 songster, doesn't get dragged into this.

    That doesn't sound very humane!

I take your point about feeding pests, but its only humans who see them as pests. They probably see us as bigger pests. We surely must be the species that contributes the least to the well being of the planet in pursuit of our own happiness

Foxes and Badgers should be legitimately culled as to keep numbers across the country at proper levels for the geographical area that they take up. As Deer are culled to manage habitats for other wild animals this should be applied for these two predatory animals.

I totally understand that there is a fore and against argument but the fox and badger population is at its highest for generations. This time of year is when cubbing starts when foxes give birth to litter after litter hence the more violent the foxes maybe around humans and other animals. I am sure if you have an allotment and or a farm where your livestock has been killed by a foxes they just dont kill to eat they go and a rampage for destruction killing everything they can sink there teeth into.

I suppose the same could be applied to the corvid and carrion types of birds which kill song birds hence why they are killed not to mention crop destruction them and the feral wood pigeon.

So i am for the legitimate culling of the above predatory animals. Obviously there is a wider argument to control the population off all the above to manage habitats and to ensure that our ecosystem is functioning correctly.

Maybe all dogs should be put down then?

And there's no one quite like the British. We even colonise humans. We are the ultimate predator.

All animals and birds have to hunt or forage for food, no supermarkets. The world would be a sorry place without them. We alter their hunting grounds with new housing, industrial sites etc and they start coming into where they can get food. Look at Seagulls coming inland, nothing in sea, fished out. The Badger issue is a Farmers moaning issue and is stupid. They could vaccinate both animals and Badgers, problem solved. With foxes, I think they could Tranquilise them with dart gun , then transport to designated areas where they have a chance of survival. Have you seen the number of Sparrow Hawks that decimate your bird table. You are not allowed to touch them, but they come where the food is on offer.

I don't even believe the story. It's the middle of winter with close to freezing temperatures...and they had a door or window open? Oh and they somehow got the severed finger back off the fox so it could be reattached!

I'm with you, my post was a sarcastic response to the original post (I’m a dog lover). One alleged attack and some want to start talking about a mass cull and the reintroduction of hunting. Hysterical in the extreme.

Typical of the human condition to view the situation as foxes coming in to our environment, whilst forgetting that due to urban sprawl and intensive farming, it is mankind that has intruded in to the natural environment of the fox. Its almost as dumb as Aussies culling sharks after surfers and swimmers have been attacked in the sea. The whole planet does not belong to humans.

The only instances of foxes being aggressive towards humans is when the are cornered or protecting their young. You show me an animal that does not behave like that and I will show you an extinct specie.
