We've been watching most of the insurrection/inauguration coverage on CNN. It's very good and watchable, although I'd have to concede to you objectivity is not it's strongest point!

He's mandated masks on federal grounds. The full mask mandate hasn't come yet, but that's in play already in other States that haven't seen their Covid numbers change (and actually get worse with the harshest lockdown restrictions in some cases) since the introduction which again gives credence to those who are anti-mask. The negative test to get in to the US was introduced shortly after Christmas as my girlfriend had to have on to get home on 4th January.

Mobile vaccination centres were already in play in other states. Their whole vaccination programme has been ramping up in different ways in different states since the turn of the year which is why they're 30%+ of global vaccinations thus far. A lot of the time the President of the US is judged by the performance of the governors and mayors - when we saw Andy Burnham vs. the establishment it was a rare thing for us, but that happens all the time in the US (probably not the best example but only one I could think of).

The diagnostic Covid test has always been free to Americans. The majority of insurance companies were forced/encouraged to waive the cost of an antibody test.

There's so many examples of media hypocrisy in the US. This forum isn't the platform for that discussion, and suggesting it exists doesn't mean you're defending Trump or anything, but it does explain why middle America doesn't vote the way a lot of people think they should when looking in on what's going on.

Not sure if I've got this right but you've got ON, Fox, CNN and Democracy Now moving right to left of different extremes. Our BBC vs. Channel 4 issues (or whoever we see as biased here) would sit in the middle of Fox/CNN I think and closer together than any of them.

Don't think they were all news reports though were they? It's not those that I was talking about really Helen on this one - although a couple of them were clips from ON and you could find similar on Democracy Now with the opposite extremism.

Well this movie is almost complete, a bit of editing and we can call it a wrap...I’m sure we’ve got a blockbuster on our hands :D

Chilling stuff from the New York Times

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/22/us/politics/jeffrey-clark-trump-justice-department-election.html

I wonder did anyone watch that fine film "All the Presidents'Men" which was on the BBC a couple of times last week? My wife and I visited the National Archive in Washington a few years ago and Richard Nixon's letter of resignation is on
display there - a one liner "I hereby resign as President of the United States." And off he flew to California to begin a life long effort to rehabilitate his reputation which to a limited extent he managed to do.

I hope that there are film makers out there even now working on Trump - the Movie. Who could play the lead role - for someone who could capture that seedy childish petulance an Oscar awaits?

Small point - it’s RAP not wrap.

at the end of a days filming (when it was film) the director declared a rap to instruct the runners to start the process for them to see the rushes (the days filming without any post production)

I'm pretty sure it's wrap, it didn't stand for anything and anything else is a backronym - the same way people sometimes claim "news" is notable events weather and sports.

This thread is so long I can't remember whether this has been done in here - a resurfaced letter from one of Trump's female employees defending him. Although there's something odd about it that I just can't quite put my finger on....
