People haven't been able to be open about voting Trump or Republican for four years. That's wrong in my opinion. It's certainly not how it works the other way around.

At the moment though, looking at the states where Joe's ahead he is staring at 306 electoral college votes and a 4 million victory in the popular vote. I think the Democrats would have taken that?

Looks like the Republican Party have referred over 3,000 instances of fraud in Nevada to the US Attorney General William Barr. I suspect we will find out soon whether these are verifiable.

wrong but understandable. tbf, it's not how it works the other way round, because they don't have a complete f.cuking maniac leading them. anyone who defends Donald Trump, has to accept they put themselves in the firing line. and in my opinion, rightly so.

Different politics though isn't it? With the house and the senate and all those complications. The belief was that they'd sweep the board and be able to implement everything in their manifesto, but the reality looks like very little will change.

That's not actually a bad position for the US. It protects the stock market and potentially the recovery, which has been V shaped in the US and bouncing back big, but at the same time gets them the Democrat President they've voted for. As much as people want to say the economy and jobs was growing pre-2016, it's hard to argue that Trump hasn't been good for the economy in the US.

It's the rejection of the hard Democrat policies that they're discussing as a negative within the party. That's why Nancy Pelosi is at risk because that was her strategy and the moderate Democrats, which is where I'd put myself on the politic spectrum, are telling her she's failed.

I don't really understand the criticism of the democrat campaign, particularly from some people who hailed Labour's 2017 defeat as a great victory. Biden could yet end up with 306 votes, just the process of vote counting that has dragged things out so long. Similarly, he could still lose, but seems odd to be critical of the result when votes are still being counted.

Looks like the margin of victory will be convincing enough that no matter how many dodgy court cases Trump tries he’s out.

Hard disagree. Because it isn't all about Trump and that's where the argument is lost in my opinion. You should be able to discuss things in a civil way, and that's rarely the case if you admit you lean right at all.

If it was Kim Jong Un behaving like that i'm pretty sure nobody would be defending him. I've never seen anything like it. The bloke is a utter disgrace and the sooner he is removed the better. He is literally putting people's lives at stake with this childish behaviour.

I see what you mean now.

I think it’s unlikely another Dem challenges her, but we’ll see

I think it's almost a guarantee. She didn't get the vote of 15 of the Dems at the last vote so has been losing popularity within her own party all the time.

That’s not as one sided as it looks though is it.

Trump is a divisive figure. And he doesn’t only accept that, he propagates it. It’s part of his appeal to a large section of his followers.

How laid back would the ordinary democrat need to be to ignore being constantly goaded in that way?

So if you’re part of a movement that has elected a figure who encourages people to hate him, how much sympathy do you deserve when some of that reflects back onto you?

Interestingly - hasn’t Trump admitted in the past to voting in the wrong state or more than one state?

How do you define what is a large section though? Because again, you can't take snippets of media coverage of crazy Americans and then label over 60 million people with that same brush. It's no different to when the BBC roll up to Yorkshire for expert opinion on politics and notoriously pick a stereotype to speak. Do you know what I mean?

Regardless of what you've said I don't think it's fair, when there's genuine politics and policies that are the reason you vote one way or the other, for almost 50% of a population to feel like they have to be silence. As much as you could say they don't deserve much sympathy, you could also say the people doing the reflecting need to take a step back as well.

But this is where all the problems are. Especially over here. Any talk in support of Republicans, or just offering a counter view, gets you labelled as a Trump supporter. We've seen it in this thread. Some people, a lot of people, aren't capable of separating the two.

Still a chance for the democrats to take the senate, too.

Double runoff in Georgia. Going to rain in money down there over the next couple of months.

One of those was a blind woman who actually managed to vote *twice* for Trump.

This is quite a good thread about the various allegations of voter fraud (from both sides).
