As usual, of those entitled to vote and who choose to exercise that vote, the US electorate has got the president they deserve. It remains to be seen how it will affect everybody else.

Whoever takes over in 5 years time will have to manage the countries debt, it can't be ignored with far-left or far-right b0ll0ck brained thinking.

I stilt find it amazing that so many in the West don't think there will be consequences of what they have/allowed/assisted in Gaza. History suggests otherwise.

I understand there's a lot of angst on here about Trumps' election but isn't the issues for the UK much closer to home? How will the Govt react to "the democratic will of the American people" being shown last night. Will it be the usual "yes Sir, No Sir, whatever you say Sir. We know our place" Or a break with the approach of the last 80 years?

The government will see it as it's duty to try to influence Trump in our favour. That will mean being prepared to "do business" with him. What else can they do?

If Starmer tells Trump to boil his head, that will put the UK clearly in Trump's sights and we will suffer as a consequence. We will suffer anyway but our government must try to mitigate it.

I don’t care what reasons they might think they have, as far as i’m concerned anybody that decides being a convicted felon and rapist isn’t a deal breaker is evil and deserves no respect.

I understand that and it's been an approach the British Govt have adopted through the ages, even when Hitler was elected in 1933. I'm expecting a similar approach this time. For some people democracy gives the green light for anything and for any behaviour.

I do think there are other approaches mind and a 20th century line might not still be appropriate as we move towards the middle of the 21 Century.

Must say, I got it terribly wrong. I really thought Harris was going to win by a some margin.

Other than that, I’ve no words. I can’t get my head around what just happened.

That fat berk wants sacking, what a muppet he is. Whether you like trump or not, there was always a massive chance he was going to win. So what does that brain dead pig do? Slates the man all over social media and US TV, knowing full well he may have to work quite closely with him in a few weeks time.

    Absolute clown.

I feel like the USA and the wider western world is a safer place with Trump at the helm.

Ah yes the man that stoked tensions around the world for 4 years, wants to be a dictator, escalated the conflicts in the middle east and russia will make the world a safer place.

    Makes loads of sense that.

This is a wind-up right? If not would you please explain why because even his own country isn’t going to be in a safer place.

You forgot to add /s at the end. I'm tipping it's a try at sarcasm

it’s this complete misunderstanding of the economics of a fiat currency producing country that holds us back.

who do you think the Government owes money to?
