I disagree. For example, we know that under lockdown policy over 400,000 people have already lost their jobs. There is well proven causality between unemployment and ill health. We know and understand the causality between not undertaking hundreds of thousands of routine cancer screenings and the deaths caused by this. These are facts, we well understand the implications as they’re subject to empirical historical evidence. Lockdowns are not, and the data coming from countries such as Spain and Italy does not look supportive for those people asserting that the lockdowns save lives.
I was merely pointing out the irony of somebody telling us to not believe what people tell us, in an interview where he tries to tell us things, such as "buy my book".
You have no idea how many people have died from cancelled appointments etc. you are making assumptions that are fairly reasonable but they aren't facts yet. "For years to come" I think the words were that you used, also. You can't make statements such as that and pass them off as fact.
I agree. We all want to go back to how life was before March 2020 go where we want when we want without restrictions. I can see why people think we should take the vaccine because they want to (like the rest of us) get back to normal and see this as the way of getting there. What I don't want to see if the BBS is still around ten years from now is lots of different posters bringing up serious health complications they have once we can judge how safe the vaccine is long term.
This is an interesting read for anyone considering whether or not to have the vaccine in the coming weeks. It is an open letter from the UK medical Freedom Alliance (a group of 'medical practitioners, scientists, academics and lawyers') to the The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA),The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and Matt Hancock (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care) in which they outline their concerns relating to the UK's Covid-19 vaccination agenda. Below is a link to the 14 page letter which details their concerns in relation to the following four areas: https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/5fa...af2de09d68bd61c_UKMFA_Letter_to_MHRA_JCVI.pdf
Fingers crossed. The Sun reporting the Oxford vaccine to be approved Monday. God it would be wonderful to only have another month or so of this garbage. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...lockdowns-February-Oxfords-Covid-vaccine.html
Even if it’s approved Monday it will still take months to roll out. You’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Can't see everyone being vaccinated in a month pal. Sources reporting 600,000 been done in roughly 3 weeks. So if that's 1% of the population, maths says it will take 300 weeks at this rate. Sure it will happen more quickly than that in reality.
You’d open up more parts of the country the more people from the vulnerable categories are vaccinated though? Surely we’re not waiting for 100% to have the vaccine. At least I hope not.
That's all they could do as we had less than a million doses of Pfizer. With 100 million of our own vaccine they will hopefully speed things up a lot by making good their idea of using the likes of sports stadiums to speed things up. They are also looking at what Tony Blair said to see if it's better to give more people one dose than use two on someone and others have to wait longer.
