    one 6 decent months of playing and gone from a modest salary at BFC to wanting £1.8m before bonuses per year.

    It amazes me that footballers don't get the stick that private sector business leaders do when many top footballers get paid more than CEO's and MD's

    Joey Barton (before fines!) gets £3.12m per annum.

    I can't think of a better way of highlighting the absurdity of footballers salaries

    It is absurd you are right. But that is the going rate in football, can't blame RVT for wanting what he feels he is worth, that being based on his performances in comparison to his team mates.
