One young winger replaced for another. Still two places to fill. Experience on the wing wouldn't help us out right now, where an experienced head in the middle of the pitch would.
We don't know that for sure though do we? Initial news story was about Crowley being sent back. I read Rothwell was sent back before I read that he'd been recalled. Pure speculation either way, but I'd imagine it was mutual. Does nothing for a player's career for a news story to say he's been sent back from a League One club.
So you think he'd drop Ben Pearson after claiming he's been our best player? And drop Josh Scowen, one of the few players that is actually contracted to us? I'm worried he doesn't quite know what to do. I'm worried about a lot of f.cking things with this club at the minute...
If you're worried the manager doesn't quite know what to do, and we've lost six in a row, then why are you so happy we've not sacked him? Stability and long term plan is one thing, but the person sailing the ship needs to be the right one. I've no idea if Johnson is the right man or not. He wouldn't drop Pearson, but I bet he'd love to drop Scowen for a Liam Lawrence type performance from an experienced head. Just to let Josh regroup, and even allow him to bring on this said experienced midfielder when we're drawing and teams are packing players behind the ball. He could also play all three of them. There's an idea.
deep down everybody wants to see lee johnson succeed, how can they not?..however what happens if say we lose the next 2,3..6 games, then what? cryne cant just keep him on board because he said he will be his last appointment, how much more money will PC lose if we are relegated again, then what happens if we are relegated and we continue to slide, ending up like Grimsby or Torquay. All managers if they go on a losing run of any length face the sack and it goes much deeper than everyone wanting instant success,we are now dangerously near the bottom and if the current run continues i cannot for the life of me see PC standing by johnson,no matter what he's said in the past.
I'm not commenting on the amount of loans in the squad, just on what outgoings we've seen recently and how those players might be replaced.
Yes, Lee Johnson confirmed it in his pre-match interview regarding Crowley. And the official site confirmed it regarding Rothwell. http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/rothwell-recalled-by-manchester-united-2741722.aspx It's not speculation Loko mate, it's fact, they were recalled.
Liam Lawrence? The fella Danny Wilson wanted to keep but was told he was too old? Give over Ben. I see your point and that I'm contradicting myself but I think it's very difficult to defend Lee Johnson at the moment. He's no doubt caused some of his own problems which is why I'm worried he's not sure what he's doing, however, I'm pleased to see that the club are not reverting to type & sacking him. BUT that doesn't stop me wondering whether that's because they've changed massively or because they are saving face.
He confirmed it after a newspaper ran the story that he'd been recalled. After other rumours from London journalists suggested our league position forced Arsenal to recall him. In the same way it's been speculated in this thread that Cryne won't sack him to save face, I also don't think the two recalls were as simple as Man Utd and Arsenal requesting their players return.
Johnson said it was felt best by United that because he'd had problems with tonsillitis before that he should return to them to get it sorted & that there was a chance he'd come back to us when fit. Get your point with Crowley, however, Rothwell makes no sense.
They're right in the $hit. If they don't pull the trigger, the pressure will keep building. If they do pull the trigger, they get accused of bottling it again. Either way, there's gonna be a massive vote of no confidence from one camp or another. If they genuinely think they've got the right man, they need to put their balls on the line and stick with him. If they don't, they really need to consider their own positions. It's fcukin w&nk. Proper fcukin w&nk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I meant a Liam Lawrence type. Just used him as an example. And wasn't it Wilson that withdrew the contract offer? Or do we know for a fact that was the club that withdrew it and Wilson wanted him? You've said here that you're wondering if the club have changed or they're saving face, but earlier in this thread you were almost reporting it as fact and not giving them the chance to be supporting Johnson. I didn't want Wilson sacked, but totally understood it as like Johnson he IMO appeared to have lost it with some bizarre team selections and tactics. Similar to Johnson now, but that doesn't mean I want Johnson sacked. Having a long term strategy and plan is great, but the person leading that in terms of the manager needs to great as well, or show signs of being great.
But it also makes no sense for us to have a loan player who hasn't played any football since Rochdale away. Opportunist timing maybe?
You're being very f.cking literal now mate. Of course I'm not reporting it as fact. I'm putting an opinion at 11.30 on a Saturday night. It's not fact but it's a strong f.cking possibility. My post wasn't intended to be a factual account - it was meant to be the start of a discussion. There's lots of possibilities, that's why I've mentioned a few different ones. I'm glad he's not gone. I hope it's because the club have massive confidence in him & he's here for 72 years.
