Really? We've signed another winger, someone who did really well at this level last season and an attacking midfielder who seems capable of an assist or a goal
Not underwhelmed in the slightest. They may all turn out to be ****, but every position that needed strengthening (other than the keeper) has been strengthened during this transfer window. We needed a full back, a centre half, a winger, a central midfield player and a couple of strikers and we got them. We got what was required. The coming weeks will tell us if what we got is any good. Owners, management, employees and fans all hope they are. And the first half performance against Fulham gives us something to build on. We've given ourselves a chance where before I don't think we had one. Let's see how that goes.
Overall positive a difficult time to recruit well as prices are inflated and people desperate. We have strengthened in most areas that we needed to though I feel that we are still weak on the wing ( in terms of numbers given Isgrove’s injury record) whether given the relative inexperience of the vast majority of those we have recruited only time will tell. We have given it a go though so can’t knock that.
I think we got the outgoings spot on - young lads getting experience in the lower leagues and McGeehan getting the chance to bridge the gap between League 2 and the Championship before hopefully coming back strong next season. The other thing and difference this year to others is that the only players who have gone out have been the ones we wanted to let go. In terms of incomings, only time will tell if they are good enough, but at least there seems now to be sufficient varied outfield depth to allow Hecky to use a full range of options in terms of formation and tactics as he sees fit. I also think we look to have come out of the window better off relative to our immediate competition in the division. So, if, and that is a big 'if'', injuries and suspensions don't deprive of us key players at key times and we get everyone integrated quickly enough I can see us having enough to stay up - just!
im more positive this morning now we,ve got some bodies through the door , over all a decent window , time will tell , now its time to do our bit and get behind them all and stay up, and build on that next season . #COYR
I think I'm considered negative but I think the Club has done as well as they can with the resources at their disposal.
I know everyone's decided he's ***** now, but maybe Thiam might come good now there's 3 potential partners for him instead of just one, and a different range of suppliers too...
We've not really strengthened the wingers we needed another one, as all we've done is replace Barnes. Unless we really see Moncur and Potts as a wingers. I would have liked Wilson that hull got. I'd have liked a keeper too. I also feel Mills is a step down on MacDonald given what the forrest fans say about him but on balance as we weren't going to play MacDonald maybe it's great business. I'm pleased with the rest especially Moore and McBurnie.
Regarding wingers - Isgrove Hammill Hedges and Mahoney - how many did you want - we have so many we had to send Mottley Henry on loan so he can get a game Agree on the Keeper - no idea if Mills is better than McDonald at this stage but there was something going on off the field there
It’s all about levels though, Moncur, Mallan Potts, and Cam Mc all looked capable until they got to this level.
We have to accept that both Insgrove and Hedges are fragile also Hecky doesn't seem to trust Hedges; I've thought hes been great and even changed games when hes come of the bench, but for some reason Hecky doesn't seem to play him, maybe due to fitness I don't know. I know we only need to play too but more often than not its a good option to sub one when things are not happening for what ever reason to try and change a game. I wasnt thinking perm but another loan as back up, so that we can sort out the fitness issues of Insgrove and Hedges. I suppose the sort answer to your question would have been 5
I think that's a decent window and we appear stronger than at the start. I like the look of Knasmullner in particular and I think we've handled what seems to be a sensitive issue with Macdonald well replacing in the short term with a very experienced player who hopefully still has something about him. Interested to see how they gel and how version 2 of 2017/18 do.
