I would go for one who wasn't in my original list, but who someone has named below and that is SHANE FERGUSON. I seem to recall that he either started, or came on during a Newastle game and looked an absolutely great prospect. He was most effective coming forwards finding space with a great turn of speed and getting in high quality crosses. providing he can defend as well, he looks the best bet, but it would depend on how far down the pecking order he is currently at the Toon. I think that they have players coming back to fitness and they have signed some more defenders, so we might be in with a punt.

I would not be unhappy with Mattock, especially given Flickers record for getting the best out of players who showed promise and then lost it too early in their careers.
