Gerr o’er, I'll be gobsmacked if that's true.

He was the shining light for the first half of that season and would have been perfect supplying McBurnie in the second half.

Barnes was taken back to lecsiter as they didn't want him in a championship relegation scrap. He was our best player for that half a season by some distance he was scoring and assisting regularly.

So why did Leicester recall him to not play him or loan him out?

Did Leicester recall him or did we send him back?

I was told we requested to terminate his loan. After we sent him back, I vaguely recall a televised fa cup game which he played some part in but I don’t think he played most if not all of the rest of the season for anyone.

My second post was to say if Leicester had supposedly recalled him, why did they neither re loan him or play him?

Definitely agree that Vickers and Connell were stand-out players. Excellent from Connell, and absolutely fantastic from young Vickers. What a shift he put in, to go with his superb skill. McGoldrick scored an excellent goal, but was just a little disappointing otherwise. Mind you, if he scores every game, that will do. Vickers gets my MoM, with Connell a very good runner-up.

I don't know and I don't doubt that you were told that.

However, I would be very surprised if it was true. Even by Barnsley standards, it seems a little too crazy to cancel the loan agreement of arguably your best player of that season.

He was our best player first half of that season. Yes he might have been a bit slack defensively at times, but he far and away made up for it attacking wise. Not doubting you've been told it or your mate is lying purposefully. But bizarre imo if true.

My MOTM today was Vickers, skillful, quick, tenacious and determined. He's going to be some player that lad.

I thought Vickers was anonymous first half. Much better after the break, as was Luca, as was Phillips.

I don't think we can question the work rate and endeavour of this group.

One of Earl and Shep for player of the match, for me. I was worried about them as a pairing, but I thought they did well.

I agree Shep and Earl were decent and defended well but i'd still like to see a right footed defender to give us more balance.

Both outstanding. Also thought it was Bland’s
    best game.

Great Post echo those thoughts, performance aside Connell's body language looks so much better, looks now like he's relishing being captain.

    Positive signs

Weird that, l thought we were poor at the back again, cannot mark for toffee and had we been against better attackers we could have gone into the break behind. Read the Bolton MDT on their board and they also thought we were cack at the back, we are desperate for a CH, we can't keep getting away with it.

That cack it took them until the 86th minute to score; 30 + minutes with a man (+ ref) advantage.

I’d known her years at the time she told me. She’d actually asked me how he’d done and why we’d sent him back as she thought he was highly rated.

As I say, she was on the supporters trust, world in the legal sector. Certainly not an in the know fantasist.

As I said in other posts, given he played minimal football after he left us, it certainly has merit. It makes little sense for Leicester to have terminated the loan then neither played him or loaned him elsewhere for game time.

But hey ho. It’s all water under the bridge and just another player who hit higher heights after his time with us.
