Sounds like kieffer wasnt on crutches then, which could be good news moving forward. I thought the gills player was a bit naughty there too. looked like an elbow to me
****. Hope alls well. Need him, hes a reight laiker. Im as worried abart him at minute as i would it were mi bairns.
From the Gills forum: He was treated/prepped on the pitch before being stretchered to the Medical Room under the Rainham End - with an ambulance constantly in Redfern Avenue perhaps this meant that it’s not as DESPERATELY serious as could be, but God knows what would go on in that room pre-ambulance. That’s not playing down any situation, I’m just not qualified to talk of this. He was taken in the ambulance when I left the Factory, which was maybe 10-15 mins after the final whistle at a random guess?
From their manager Finally, Lovell provided an update on Gills skipper Gabriel Zakuani and Kieffer Moore after their sickening clash in the air led to a lengthy period of treatment for both players. “Gabs will have an X-Ray on his ankle. We’re not sure what it is but it doesn’t look good at the minute and obviously Kieffer has gone off to hospital – it looked a nasty one, we just hope he’s fine. “All we can do is hope that the pair of them are not as bad as it really looked.”
I once got told that they will never put someone in an ambulance from a head injury unless they're stable or dead. Could no longer be the case, I suppose, but it would suggest he was somewhat stable 10-15 minutes after the game ended.
It looked to me as if he was unconscious after the first contact with their player - hence when he fell his body had no control, and that’s why his head smacked his knee. Very awkward fall. Hope he’s ok - the ‘cracking noise’ reported isn’t good though (if true).
The crack could’ve been Zakuani’s ankle as there’s a chance he’s broken it. Whilst that would obviously be bad for us, better that than a serious neck injury for Moore. Praying that wasn’t what was heard. Regarding Gabs and the strange ‘his arms were all up’ commentary, he didn’t lead with an elbow at all. Even if he had, it would’ve only come up to Moore’s midriff! I saw it close up - it was a clash of heads and he was out cold instantly hence the awful landing. Hope he’s ok, because it was a sickening incident. In my opinion, you surpassed Luton as the best team we’ve played this season. Sadly I think it could spell the end for Lovell at Gills (and a possible move for the vile Steve Evans) so it’s ruined my weekend, but still, grudging credit for a very impressive performance. Interested to see so many Tykes saying Kettle was biased towards us. Most Gills fans are saying the opposite - just an all round despised ref! Good luck for the rest of the season and hoping you deservedly go up...partly cos we never ‘kin beat you!
That looks awful, from following boxing they always say the double concussion is worst when a fighter is knocked out initially & lands hard on their head on the way down, in this case Moore has the initial blow & then seems to hit his head against his knee. Hope he’s ok
