I get what you mean but completely different scenarios. Leicester's squad worth was less than 40 million, Villa's is about 650 million, they've got known talent there. Leicester had Kante & Mahrez but got them for relative peanuts with good scouting, whilst Villa are paying a bucket load for their talent (clearly paying off however!). And not to mention Leicester just survived relegation the season previous, I think on the last game of the season iirc?
Yeah Villa will be glad of underdog tag. However, as you have eluded to that is a bit false. They're probably just fulfilling the potential of the players they have. (Bloody good ones and excellent to watch).
They’re doing great & they’re doing it in spite of having Thursday night football which seems to have been an issue for a lot of sides over the years. I am surprised they’ve not had FFP issues though. Even under Dean Smith they spent an absolute fortune & they’ve not had any European football since the Martin O’Neill days.
