It's got pathetic that we cant nail a signing down and other clubs just step in and take them, if we don't sign what we need before transfer window shuts this board is a disaster/joke.
Possibly, but how many get mentioned and then go to the other clubs that's similar size to us and the lack of signings show we must have chased a few and lost out. We just wont spend the bit extra to nail one down.
I think we’re mid table when it comes to total signings this Summer and with limited departures (unlike other teams). Doesn’t mean we don’t need more but we’ve hardly been quiet compared to the market.
Re-sale fees for most of these foreign players brought in will undoubtedly be pi$$ poor in relation to their signing on fees. All our proven large profit making player sales have been English. This constant trawling of cheaper European players goes against this ownership plan somewhat if they are serious at all in selling our talented players for significant profit and building year on year for me.
How many get mentioned that we're actually interested in though. It's easy to say that when there's absolutely no proof we were ever interested in signing him. The only person with any sort of confirmed knowledge inside of the club has said the transfer targets he's aware of, aren't public knowledge. He's also confirmed that we were never in for Dykes. So I wonder how many of these names we're linked with in the media, we've actually been in for.
I know but we need what we need we might be mid table as you say but were currently down the bottom we needed the bigger transfer pull.
had we signed him the club would have been criticised for signing another unknown European. cant win.
I don’t know if we were in for this guy or not, but the club have been saying that they are ‘close’ to signings for 2-3 weeks now, and nothing has materialised. Cant say I’m particularly confident anything will, especially with the fact we probably won’t have a head coach very soon. Murphy doesn’t really fill me with confidence that he can get deals over the line quickly enough to avoid any competition.
This could be a 'Talking Schmidt' feature: 'Pipo and the PoPo'. Patrick Schmidt goes on ride alongs with SYP around the borough of Barnsley, reporting back on the serious incidents, misdemeanors and petty crimes. His shoes always spotless, hair perfectly quiffed. For satire, he is picked up each week from the local laundrette, where he's just picked up his kit.
Just cos he works for BFC does not make him imune from spin and porkies you know. In fact I'd say it's in his job description ..
i wouldn’t believe too much of what you read from him, I think the club have pushed him back into the forum to shoot down some of the negativity. I could be miles off, but I have my suspicions.
Well if I was in charge of recruitment only those that need to know would know and the fewer the better.
Apart from more money, a stadium that isn't decaying and a better chance of promotion, why would he pick them over us?
