Smith won't last much longer in league football.

He also won't ever play in the premier league or championship like Wabara.

It's an odd conversation this. You're writing out your predictions for the future as though they are cast iron facts. Personally I hope both play very well for us and have good careers. I don't know or really care who goes on to be the better player and as they play different positions and are not competing for a place in the team, I don't see how it matters.

I'd be suprised if Smith got a contract extention longer than January 2017 come the summer.

Wabara's run of poor form came alongside maybe 4-5 others. At that time Sam wasnt scoring, we were weak across the back 4 (which was changed weekly) and we had no width other than Marley. It's hard to judge one player who over the season has been consistently ok. Not fantastic, but then again who has?

Smith has for his age also done ok. Not great but ok. I think he would have benefited from more competition and a more controlled Intro to the first team. Meaning, we had to play him when we ideally should have rested him. We also expected him to drive forward which clearly isn't his natural game. Will he play at a higher level, who knows. I think many would have said the same about Anthony Kay when we had him. After all we typicially write players, like White, off after 50 minutes don't we? This by the way is 50 mins longer than we used to when we wrote some off before kicking a ball.

Wrong, I want Smith to do really well and play for Barnsley for 10-15 years or be sold for big profit.
