    I've quickly gone through this thread, and apologies if someone has already mentioned it but I didn't see it. Don't Barnsley Council still co-own the stadium? Perhaps it's something to do with this deal that this offer has come about.
    When I worked for Halifax bank they used to sponsor Halifax Rugby League club and we could buy discounted tickets, in fact our department often had a competition to win an executive box for a game...had opportunity to go a couple of times when a colleague won it.

    Now I'm out of work but bought a season ticket (after much deliberating), and it doesn't bother me that workers at BMBC will be able to get discounted tickets. Lot's of companies do things to engage with the local community, this to me seems to be a 2 way thing, in that the major sports club in the town are reaching out to a major employer, whilst the local council are looking to help promote the local professional football club. Has anyones ticket price gone up as a result? No!
