I've read the article again. If Bradshaw runs his contract out so called foreign clubs like Rangers would only have to pay 250k compensation where as English clubs would have to pay a lot more compo.Hope I've cleared things up a bit.
I think you've misinterpreted that article. I believe what it said was that, if Bradshaw leaves at the end of his contract next summer, Walsall will be due compo. Rangers are classed as a foreign club so the tribunal figure would be less for them compared to an English club. I think the £250k figure quoted was pure guesswork. He's worth as much as someone is willing to pay, or as much as they're willing to take. They either sell him in this summer window, or risk losing him for peanuts next summer. Bit like us with some of our players.
Watford about to sell Deeney to Leicester for £25mill and Wallsall have a massive sell on clause when he went to Watford. Don't have to sell Bradshaw.
Bradshaw might want to go though what's point in keeping an unhappy player you know the way it works.
If we can afford to throw a million quid at a transfer I'd rather us go for a quality midfield partner for Hourihane. Winnall will score goals in the Championship, and I'm sure we can nab a decent striker on loan, whether that's Fletcher or someone else.
