When they want 900k? Cheers for the advice Don, but don't you have a new job now?

Hi Walsall fan here. It's not to do with Stones, it's to do with the amount of clubs showing serious interest, all with money to spend - Rangers, Forest, Blues, Wolves, Preston (probably signed enough strikers now), Huddersfield, Bristol City, Rotherham, you and others, most of whom have made bids or enquiries. Competition equals a higher figure.

He'll go for what we want for him. It's Rangers who have said they've been told to go away and come back with £900,000. The bids other clubs have made, have quite frankly been insulting.

We got £600,000 at tribunal for Grigg, and £500,000 for Deeney, who had far less impressive records, at their time of departure than Bradshaw has, and there was only one club interested in signing both of those, not a number of Championship clubs.

If necessary, we will run his contract down, and let him go for free, if the bid isn't right now, as it gives us a better chance of promotion. We've just done the same with Sawyers, after turning down bids in January for him.

If what you say is correct, fair play to Walsall for standing their ground rather than letting their pants be pulled down at the first sniff of an offer. We could learn a thing or twofrom this - though hopefully things are starting to change.

Fair play to them, I agree. On the other hand, though, they could end up losing him and staying down again, like they have with Sawyers. Keeping a good, but unhappy player surely isn't going to boost their chances of promotion?

but on the same token they have every right to ask for a price based on his value. We wouldnt entertain bids lower than 750k for Sam, so why should they. Really is a no brainer for me, weve recently signed 2 or 3 unproven strikers from way lower leagues (we i agree with to an extent) but for me Bradshaw falls in to the category of player who comes to oakwell with the opposition and i think 'wish we had him' and almost guarantees goals and a increased value in 2 years time. Im not saying im a football expert or owt but he looks like he will score goals for whoever he plays for. Hope its us....but unfortunatley I reckon we could lose out by a couple a hundered grand.......the cost of a couple a these lower league strikers weve acquired.

It's a very fair price for a striker who's scored the goals he has these last 2 years. I'd want more if we were looking to flog Winnall despite the last year of his contract.

If anybody was going to pay 900 grand they would have done it by now,so they have to lower there expectations or keep him.

We need to stop fecking about with low offers. If we want him lets at least offer something tempting before he goes elsewhere
