Tory Blair was in the newspapers about a year ago saying that he wanted to sweep through North Africa, the Middle East the India and Pakistan region and into China. He is an absolute lunatic. The situation in the Middle East is of our making. We have been far too cosy with the United States. We have been guilty of causing mayhem in that region. In a variety of regions in Africa there have been worse humanitarian situations and we have not felt compelled to intervene - but then there has not been the same oil incentive. Our foreign intervention has made the whole region a perfect hotbed for extremism. So now Tony wants us to go back in. He is a genuinely sinister man.
If ground troops aren't the answer then what is? I'm not saying I agree by the way, just asking a question. Diplomacy will not work and air strikes will only have a limited impact.
George Galloway said it right, basically made the point that if something was happening in this country, such as a civil war, would we really want another country to intervene and then occupy our country in the name of "peacekeeping"...we definitely wouldn't, so why would any other country?
no need to occupy the country but when people are being butchered and slaughtered then somebody needs to step in.If we were a country in turmoil and the same was happening here then I would hope someone would help us,its beyond evil what is happening. as for Galloway I wouldn't trust that lovely person as far as I could throw him.
