Agreed, it seems with some on here all probabilities and possibilities can be considered and put into the equation for a negative outcome, but not for a positive outcome. The play offs are mathematically achievable, we are in poor league and as bad as we've been prior to Christmas, only Rochdale away have turned us over. We are currently in a good vein of form, shame about the injuries, but I for one will not abandon hope just yet.

I always thought berk was fairly bland, not abuse at all really. It just means you're being a bit daft to me. However, it's actually cockney rhyming slang - Berkshire Hunt.

Whether he's a good manager or not I can't say, only time will tell, but 'systematically destroying the club' looks even more ludicrous now than when
people were saying it before the current 5 wins in a row.

You're a bright guy and you know Clubs don't engineer good and bad form to suit the early bird...the last few years, Flitcroft excepted, should have shown that.

    Sorry..missed the lol

I've no idea whether we'll make the play offs or not, you don't think we will...but it is possible...7pts in 18 games..why should you suggest someone with a different guess to yours is deluded?

    You've got a point Conan.

But you're missing the bigger picture. A run like this can only be a good thing, even if we suffered a bigger slump than most when we had our bad patch in the season.

This run of wins will eventually come to an end no doubt. But when it does, it's about the manner in which it ends, and how we dust ourselves off to go again. If it comes to an end with a draw or narrow defeat say away at Gillingham, then there's no reason why we can't restart that run.

As you say, the play-offs may be just out of reach this season, but if we can get a run of form going into pre-season, it'll only breed confidence for next season, permitting that we can keep the core of this team together.

It's only a few weeks ago that you said something about taking 5th bottom in the league and whether people would be happy. I said we could as easily go on a run and finish mid - table, you also said that was highly unlikely, yet here we are with 20 games to go.

I'm really enjoying the run we are on, the team spirit on show and the fantastic way the team has managed to galvanise the fans- especially on here.

    Spot the odd one out!!!

Though continued credit to all at Barnsley for making football at least a little more enjoyable just lately. Long may it continue.

We can't undo the past and every season we can look back and say that things would have been better if such-and-such hadn't happened. What's the most important thing going forward?

The play-offs? The most likely outcome is that we will run out of steam or injuries will prevent us from putting out our best team. It's not impossible, I'll be happy if it happens, but unlikely.

Wembley? It's a one-off game against Fleetwood at a time when key players are probably injured - we may be edged out of that one as well, but who knows. It's one game and I've no doubt the lads will give it a good go as they always do.

The most important thing has got to be to tie down players we currently have for next year. Not wholesale changes again this summer please.
Extend the contracts of the players we want to build a team around. Try to convince our star players to stay. I don't want a new team again next year, and all the old excuses coming out about players gelling.
