Not really agreed, Warnock said he received a phone call on the morning of the game telling him the news.

For the short-term job that's required, he's the perfect candidate. Done the same thing already on more than one occasion.

He also has a connection with the club, as an ex-player, understands the fanbase, and has a clear affection for BFC, despite being a long-time pantomime villain to us.

I just don't see him as being a realistic option. He's too much of a threat to the ownership, in that he'll speak his mind and expect them to support him in January with experience, neither of which they will want to take on.

He's our best chance of survival this season, and probably the polar opposite of whoever ultimately gets appointed, which is as good a summary of why I'm now so disconnected with BFC.

I voted yes but on reflection I am so undecided.

On the one hand he is just what we need, someone with the know how in this league, with bags of knowledge and passion that I am sure would keep us up.

On the flip side, he is in his 70s now so would not be a long term solution, just another quick fix. My personal preference would be to go down the route of an Alex Neil or someone similar. Not a flashy name that will leave at the first sniff of another bigger job but someone young enough to take us forward for a few years and get us secured as a championship club.

Currently we are a yo-yo club between L1 and Championship. We had a freak season last time out and got playoffs but realistically we need to establish ourselves in this league for a few seasons first then push on. I like the current model around signing younger players and trying to sell them on, its the best way to organically grow as a smaller club like we are. But I am not a fan of doing the same when it comes the managers. We either get flops like Schopp that don't work out and fail and we lose money sacking them etc. Or we get good ones like Val and they have a bit of success and bugger off the first time a bigger fish comes knocking and this puts us back to square one.

Still say Nigel Clough. Far more realistic than Warnock
