2) The three wise men were at a Mensa convention which, in those days, took place in September.

    3) Myrhh is out of season any later than that.

I think the existence of piles, hepatitis and Owen Blackadder answers your question.

    it's all a con.

jesus is just a reworking of joseph from the old testament.

load of cobblers. where's the historical evidence for this jesus character? apart from that great work of fiction the bible, where else is he mentioned?

only one source has been 'discovered' whch talks about jesus, and that was proved to be an 18th century fake. only three contemporary accounts even mention him, and not by name, just someone referred to as a christ, no details. you'd think someone causing so much trouble in judea at the time would have had loads written about.

Do as i say in this life, and you'll have eternal happiness in the next one. i could get into this. everyone do as i say, give me all your money (and i won't pay tax, mind) and you'll have a great afterlife, honest. no rocking the boat now. burn a few heretics, heavily edit my 'documentation'. i've got it made. any takers? remember, the passage of time does not turn lies into truth.

    Whoa, back up a bit....

    >The problem arises however when the teachings of the church differ from the teachings of Jesus.

Explain that one to me please.
