I think that he is talking about the outlet and possibly means that the other end of the pipe goes into one of those push on things on his sinks waste and that it doesn't push on as tight as the old one did.

 

Yes, the other end that pushes onto the side of the U-Bend......the connection to the machine is fine...

 

Thought so. Jubilee clip is definitely your answer. And if you're still not sure what one is then it's the metal screw clip that goes on your hosepipe outside
