Used to go to Oakwell pretty much same time as you maybe a bit earlier but was too young to store loads of memories.wasn't allowed to go when big crowds were expected so didn't get to see the great Bobby Charlton grace Oakwell or the Leicester (robbery) game.so mostly watched us in the bottom two leagues. But who can forget that Grimsby game in the promotion season from lge 4 or the Rotherham game in promotion to lge 2 but the first feeling of making the big time was the lge cup games with Liverpool especially the away one which most of us missed a great chunk but the atmosphere at the end was one I'll never ever forget. I didn't start till my Dad took me down in '74. Early Jim Iley era. Mick Butler, Anton, Mick Pickering, Les Lea, Phil Chambers, Spud...

I was a Leeds fan before that. (Everyone at Holgate seemed to support Leeds or Liverpool.
Wasn't aware of Barnsley, till my dad took me.

I was hooked & I dragged him along from then onwards. Sadly he's not well enough to come now at 79...

Been more bad times than good times.

In the world I've worked in for the last 12 years (& before that doing live music) you remember the one bad gig & forget the great 9 gigs. Supporting Barnsley is the ting to the yang...
