    On form and (current) ability he should be nowhere near the team. I think Roy might be brave and bench him.

    Come on, you don't really think that do you? You might be able to question whether he is worth his place but you can't doubt his commitment to England. He's not one of these players who picks up an 'injury' the week before a game.

    He'll start with Kane, Vardy will be used as a sub - I don't agree with that but that's what will probably happen.

    Different players have there best footballing years at different stages of their careers - I would suggest the majority start get better as they learn and develop and then tail off again, but in my opinion Rooney was very much at his best when he first burst onto the scene at 17/18 years old (much Like I think Michael Owen was) he has then become poorer as his career has gone on, I watched the documentary on him a few months back and it stood out like a sore thumb, I'd actually forgotten how good as a youngster he was, but he definitely peaked right at the start of his career for me.
