He was a bit daft to do it but as others have said as soon as he knew about the bet he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. He's been useed by the Sun for cheap publicity for their betting site - I didn't know they had one until this story...

I do find Sutton United's response pathetic too in as much as they used him for publicity themselves as they had a 46 year old 20 stone "sub keeper". You cannot tell me that they could not have found someone more likely to be useful if called upon but instead it was a novelty that got them more attention than having a 19 year old normal sized keeper. Instead they had a 46 year old 20 stone one and milked it for all it was worth. Then they have the audacity to call Wayne Shaw unproffesional for eating a pie. I'd say having a 46 year old 20 stone sub keeper is more so...
