They don’t press anywhere near as much as we did. No sprint to the half way line. Poor copy of us last season. If I was us now, I’m go back to that perceived bonkers tactic. It completely threw, every opponent. Why change it? Do the same and add a bit more football in the middle of the park and hey presto, best of both worlds.
I thought we had problems scoring could be worse the blunts have 50million pound plus of strikers and haven't scored yet in the league.
That's a lovely goal by our Alex tbf. Exactly the same as us last season, direct and a threat from set pieces, but pressing all the time and occasionally scoring a great team goal.
Yeah my point being they bitterly complained about one call and it was a booking yet Jones had been doing it all game but only got booked after that.
I think this is what most of us on here asked for. Schopp though for whatever reason has decided to rip it up and start again. Good luck to the guy and I hope it works but if it doesn't then he's gonna cop it big time.
We can do better than Mowatt. He wouldn't get in a top half championship side. If we're going to improve we need better central midfielders. Think that covers it?
So we've got the coaching staff that Val bought with him still? So surely they must know his methods and be able to help incorporate them with Schopps coaching ideals?
Even if we were playing the same style as last season I don't think we would be any better off, we relied on physical presence up front, something we don't have at the moment.
Another goal from a long throw. Awful to watch but very effective. Wish we had someone who can do that
Got to admit I'd wondered the same. They'll have been a part of his prep sessions, on the training ground and in the team talks etc, wonder if they'd have had a word. That said it's not exactly a secret how we set up last season, Schopp will have seen plenty of footage I'm sure
