We will never win enough games with Gardner and Williams in the team, what we needed in Jan was/were quality central mid and a Goalie, those 2 positions would have saved us with Mcbernie upfront. Other positions, manager, the weather, lights in the sky or whatever are just blah, blah, blah

Danny Wilson took over at Barnsley in November. He knew the league and players well but we got relegated with a whimper.J.M hasn't been afforded the time Danny had but I back him to get us out of this mess.

Any ahead Coach that keeps this team up deserves massive plaudits. We are not good enough by a long long way in pretty much every position.

I said at the time that we needed to appoint from within until the end of the season. Paul Harsley would have been that man for me.

Actually Wilson was appointed in the build up to christmas, but I agree with the fact that he got much longer to try and keep us up than Jose's been given.

I think he’ll keep us up, he ought to anyway.

That team was dreadful. If you look at the players we had that season virtually all of them dropped down a level after leaving us. Wiseman, Dawson, Etuhu, Mellis, O’Brien, Kennedy etc all regulars.

The current lot aren’t great by any stretch of the imagination but I think they’re a lot better than that squad & it helps we’re up against 3 sides that are even worse than we are

But Wilson had a transfer window and the brought loads more dreadful players in so I don't know why you say jm should keep us up but then excuse Wilson.

Or loads of crap players thrust upon him. I recall numerous interviews he gave where it seemed he was unaware what player may turn up later that day. And if you recall that's the time suggestions started materialising about who picked the team and who influenced transfers.

And the reply was do you think a manager of Wilson's calibre would let someone else pick the players and the team? It was only the relegation that we came up with the "plan" of signing young up and coming players. Wilson didn't take to that 100% and we got Turnbull treacy and some others along with the spreadsheet signings.

Just because the current squads much better than that one, we have a quality striker & theres 3 worse teams.

He had a transfer window but I’m 99.9% certain they weren’t signings he’d gone out & scouted. It certainly looked to me like the players we brought in were because of agents recommending them & we took a punt. I could be wrong but I find it hard to believe we’d scouted Frimpong & Shea for example. Still can’t believe the lack of effort they two gave when they should’ve been hungry to make Ghana & USA’s World Cup squads

I don't think he had choice what he was given and his answers when asked where evasive at best. That from someone who was always pretty direct. I think its fair to say for a long time, our method and those who influenced recruiting has been opaque at best.

Even in the days of Hill, the final series of loans in which to give him sufficient rope to hang him with was highly divisive and not of his choosing.
