I still think we’re one out and out striker short. Cosgrove and Watters don’t have the best injury record whilst with us, so loose those two and we look light again.
I wouldn't swap any of ours for any of theirs. Enjoy going into games to win them and don't use cost as a barometer for quality.
Certainly they will be far tougher tests but we've got a positive manager and a group of players that still have plenty of improvement in them, get behind them and enjoy the ride Geddis.
If we don't win the league title with 100+ points then Clarke needs sacking . Seriously, it's too early to tell, give it 12-15 league games and I think that will be a solid benchmark for assessing how our season is likely to go.
Here we go.. win one and We're HMS Pi55theleague.. next defeat everyone 5'hit, manager clueless, sack the board.. and JAQ gets dogs abuse online.. Bye..
Think we’re a long way of a promotion challenge this season still. But the signs are looking promising for next season, provided we keep the manager beyond this season for a change. Plus let’s get Birmingham out of the way, they should run away with the league, & I expect Huddersfield to take 2nd place with ease. There’s some ***** in the Championship due to come down who don’t have the resources Brum have, Cardiff, Plymouth, possibly Preston.
Yes we are. We have Cosgrove Jalo Roberts Nkwali Gent DKD Humpfrys, Hourihane, Benson, Russell all to push for a position in to yesterdays starting line up, that's some list for league 1, damn recruitment team.
I think we’re a top 6 team in this league and anything else is a failure. As a few have said there are some good teams in this league but like Crawley there are also some really bad teams. Take as many points from the bad as you can and you’ll be there or there abouts. Losing home and away to someone like Brum won’t define our season. Although we’ve already dropped 5 points against Mansfield and Northampton that could be costly.
Whilst ever the optimist, we had O Keefe, Cotter and Marsh (for 85) who barely even got close to being on our bench last season. ok i've seen a bit of improvement in Barry, but unless DC has a magic wand these players are not good enough for a team wanting to chase promotion.
Good chance to join the top bunch on 10 points if we beat Bristol Rovers, as there are only three Div 1 fixtures next Saturday.
Why Huddersfield wouldn’t,t swap their players for ours. Just cos you have spent a heap of money{Birmingham} don’t mean you are going to piss the league.
I’ve missed the two away games so my thoughts are we must have been bloody good in them two games as I’ve not seen anything in the home games that says we’re likely to go up. Having said that the extra height this season will be important for us. Even in them few games we had Pines last season the difference was huge. I still struggle to see us going up automatically. I think if we did go up it’d be through the play off mix as I can’t see us getting around the 90 points mark.
Hope you’re right, and I’m all for positivity, but it’s far too early to judge for me. Yesterdays win just demonstrated the disparity of this level. We played against a team that looked every bit a relegation struggler. They had nothing to offer, and we beat them without our first choice strikers and had the luxury of replacing Pines with a championship quality centre back in Roberts. It was men against boys all over the field. We’re great away from home, have been for the last 2 seasons, and I’d never back against us, but we still have to sort our home form, and until we do that, I’m not getting too carried away.
