We all laughed when China actually barricaded people in their homes

Folk can dress it up how they want. They built a big **** off fence to pen folk in. If you’re alright with that, it might be advisable to go and live in China or Vietnam, I think you’d like it better there than here, and they have less Covid as well, bargain.

How do you work that out? The fence was to stop others from entering their accommodation. The key cards was to stop students automatically accessing buildings such as labs and libraries out of hours which they can normally do by scanning but they had to be manually checked in instead to make sure numbers were controlled. You’re sounding a bit like casual tyke and his voter fraud with this where the headline sounds bad at first and then you do a bit of research and see that it is misleading at best.

Hundreds of student accommodations have big **** off fences all year round. It’s almost weirder that this one didn’t. It’s a completely normal and expected thing but the way they did it was stupid.

Do you actually think the timing was a coincidence? Lockdown started at midnight and during that night a fence was built around the buildings and keycards disabled stopping students getting from one building to another

No, of course not. It was completely linked to Covid and the lockdown but not to lock people in their flats with no way to exit as is being implied.

No way to exit without having to go through a checkpoint where details could be taken though. That's just completely wrong. It's like police stationing someone outside your front door and demanding ID before you can go to morrisons

They don’t check details exiting, they don’t care less about you exiting. They check people entering so you can’t go in a block of flats you don’t live in.

This happened in South Wales last weekend during a lockdown. No real surprise that it seems they can’t be trusted to stick by the rules. Whilst not condoning the approach how the hell are we meant to beat this thing when people just feel it’s ok to break lockdown rules.
