Yet 60% of Labour constituencies voted Leave. Maybe leavers are more spread out than remainers I.e huge blocks of remainers in the big cities. If Labour are remain does it not put their vote in places like Barnsley, Grimsby etc in jeopardy ?

Nobody has the slightest idea how many Labour voters voted leave or remain. Pure pie in the sky based on surveying a few people. Depends on the issues at the time of the poll as to who are more likely to respond..

Its extremely difficult to know exactly how many Labour voters voted Leave. And how many of the "never voted before" were part of the referendum.

I feel its often represented that there were 17.4m leavers and huge amounts must be Labour voters.

But... there were 16.14m Remain voters. A very very close poll requiring minimal swing. So of that 16.14m, how many were Labour voters... and seldomly mentioned... how many were Conservative voters?

Out of interest I also looked to the UK where the Jewish News reports that 47% of those British Jews polled by the the Jewish Leadership Council would consider leaving the country !!! With 87% considering to be antisemitic. What you going blame that on whilst burying your head in the sand ??

Most MPs will win with between 30% and 50% of the voters in their constituency. For instance, Dan Jarvis won Barnsley Central in 2017 with ~64% of the vote and ~60% turnout. That means that ~37% of the voters in that constituency voted for him. It is entirely possible that the vast majority of those that voted for him voted Remain, and those that didn't voted Leave. It could even be that a sizable chunk of non-GE voters voted Leave.

It is not so cut-and-dried as that, but it is quite easy to see that it could be the same voters voting for Jarvis and Leave, a mix voting for Leave, or a mix voting for Jarvis. And without asking everyone there is no way to know.

At least two BxP PPCs are not even British citizens. One was standing for election in the Philippines around the time of the referendum, the other living in Australia.

can you google and paste a link to that whilst your faux outrage subsides? I’m genuinely interested however based on previous conversations I wouldn’t have had you as a champion of minority groups, apologies if I have the wrong end of the stick, Are you referencing the Conservative party chairman’s comments yesterday?

I agree holding this GE now will be suicidal for the Labour Party. Like it or not Brexit will be a major issue.

Which begs the question why did Labour support the vote for an election?

Forty-seven percent of British Jews would “seriously consider” emigrating if Labour party head Jeremy Corbyn is elected prime minister, according to a poll by Survation commissioned by the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC), a British-Jewish advocacy group.

The poll, which was shared with the Jewish News, also found that 87 percent of respondents believed Corbyn to be anti-Semitic.

Corbyn has a long history of association with Islamists and other anti-Semitic figures. In 2009, he invited Hamas members to speak in Parliament, while on Holocaust Memorial Day in 2010 he hosted an event at Parliament during which a Jewish Holocaust survivor compared the Israeli government to Nazis. He also reportedly laid a wreath at the grave of a Black September terrorist who participated in the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.

Corbyn has also failed to tackle anti-Semitism within the Labour party, according to an expose published in April of this year. The party received 863 complaints of anti-Semitism as of March but took action in only 101 of those cases. Members who have said such things as “Heil Hitler,” “F**k the Jews,” and “Jews are the problem,” have remained in the party despite complaints against them.

NR's afternoon roundup of the day's best commentary & must-read analysis.

Two Jewish politicians have so far quit the Labour party, one of whom, Louise Ellman, wrote that anti-Semitism has “become mainstream in the Labour Party. Jewish members have been bullied, abused and driven out. Anti-Semites have felt comfortable and vile conspiracy theories have been propagated…The Labour Party is no longer a safe place for Jews.”

    4
UK Jews have moved to support either the Tories, led by current Prime Minister Boris Johnson and which supports leaving the European Union, or the Liberal Democrats, which is against Brexit. Some of those surveyed in the Survation poll have said opposing Labour and Corbyn is the most important voting issue for them.

Johnson called for elections this December after his proposal to leave the European Union by October 31 was rejected by Parliament. Opposition head Corbyn agreed to the proposal on Tuesday, saying, “We will now launch the most ambitious and radical campaign for real change our country has ever seen.”

A link would have been fine but thank you. It’s always strange how these sort of articles have no context, seem a bit vague and usually trot out Corbyn met xxxxx in parliament without actually explaining why. I’m not for one minute doubting your rightful anger over this and I commend you wholeheartedly for your doggedness. It’s amazing what we can do for minorities and those victimised.

There’s no requirement to look any way, you feel free to keep shouting your support for the Jewish community or are you shouting your anger at Jeremy Corbyn..... hmmmmm...... based on all evidence you don’t seem the most tolerant person. See my post On confirmation bias above.

If you read it carefully it says it was a holocaust survivor that made the comparison re Israel and the Nazi's not JC.
Being critical of the Israeli state and its role in middle east politics doesn't make someone anti semitic.

Yet again you’ve missed the point. The article only confirms your previously held view. It’s not independent, it’s not balanced and it’s almost certainly.. well let’s not say untrue but economical definitely. It plays on your prejudices. Some might say there’s no smoke without fire and I can get that, instances of anti Semitic behaviour has undoubtedly occurred, by all members of society. The key thing here is listening to you it’s only labour, it’s only Jeremy. It isn’t. He isn’t.

You keep repping on and on about Corbyn with links to Islamic terror organisations and Corbyn's failure to tackle antisemitism this must be your 20th post on the subject yet your all wind and piss you give nothing substantial just reports from right-wing zionist newspapers, you must be a supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu leader of the right-wing Lukud party who has 100's if not thousands of Palestine peoples blood on their hands with indiscriminate shootings of ordinary Palestinian people trying to cross the border back to land they have worked since millennia the same guy Netanyahu as numerous allegations of corruption hanging over him, These Israelis are doing to the Palestinians what Hitler did to them 2 wrongs don't make a right and as far as I'm concerned Trixie anyone who disagrees with the policies of Netanyahu will be classed with antisemitism and that's not just in Britain all you have do is listen to Trump and his gang of right-wing nut jobs in America.
