Businesses are suffering because we are doing this in the first place, not because of the time its taking. As for kicking the can id rather remain, thats the best deal but if we are to spite ourselves then at least take the time to do do it correctly and in the best way possible to protect those it will hurt most.

Good post ,well put and much the way that I see it. Having said that, any Labour leader would still receive similar treatment from the Tory and right/wing loving press/media and certain posters on here

And after 9 years of austerity that square root has doubled and more, but keep blaming Labour.

That stories been found out , you’ll have to do better than that on this election people are not daft enough to believe the world recession was labours fault anymore .
What we are suffering from is the Tories Austerity .

correct Pete but Labour were in power from 1997 to 2010 when Cameron took over from Brown, debt doubled during this period but since Cameron took over debt as a percentage of gdp has only risen around 15pct -

I think you are largely correct on that one Marlon although not helped by Labour spending whilst in office which exacerbated the problem -

The vast majority of the anti-semitism claims are ********.

When people hear Labour anti-semitism crisis they think it’s MP’s, it’s not, it’s party members, of which there’s over half a million people. Me or you could sign up to be a Labour Party member tomorrow & post something anti-Semitic online & it goes down as Labour anti-semitism. I think it’s 0.06% of members have been investigated, so a pretty tiny number, of which many of the cases aren’t even anti-semitic, often it’s people criticising Israel’s actions & subsequently been accused of anti-semitism.

I think Chris Williamson’s the only MP who’s got into trouble over it & in my opinion he didn’t do anything wrong & was made a scapegoat.

There was a Panarama documentary a while back on it that was widely ridiculed online as the people claiming there was widespread anti-semitism were previously on an Al Jazeera undercover documentary talking about accepting bribes to fabricate anti-semitism.

What hasn’t helped is celebrities like Rachel Riley with a huge amount of followers spreading unsourced material & accusing innocent people of it. Often you’ll see her & others post screenshots of supposed Labour Party anti-semitism but the accounts aren’t even real accounts, they often have no followers & are either bots or are individuals setting up lots of accounts to abuse someone online.

There are genuine cases of party members posting anti-Semitic remarks online & they’ve either been punished or are under investigation but in the vast majority of cases you only have to do a bit of research to find out that a lot of it is fabricated.

The reports I've heard directly from people I trust in the westminster bubble relate to MP's being intimidated WITHIN the parliament environment. Its tended to be verbal and opportunistic, but constant.

I agree in terms of online aspects, but there is a genuine undercurrent within parliament. Who is behind it and why its not being sorted swiftly, I can't even begin to imagine.

Youve forgotten that there is only one political party in history to be investigated by the EHRC. And that is Labour. Even the BNP dint have a formal investigation, they were just taken to court to amend the membership structure.

As for the Panorama documentary, the whislteblowers prior to the recording of their interviews were threatened by Labour with legal letters regarding NDA's and have the support of a number of unions in regards to how they have been treated by the Party. Two of the whislteblowers are currently undertaking legal action against the party as is the director of the Panorama documentary.

Theres known party outriders who have made on social media made reference to anti semetic comments and supported those who have made the same.

There has been Holcaust deniers having a slot at party conferences.

Labour MP's have resigned due to the abuse they were getting., lack of support from leadership and so forth.

The Met has got involved to investigate potential charges against people for comments made.

Theres a number of potential labour candidates, be it MP,s or local government who keep getting pulled up for their social media content.

Didnt Mcdonnell say the Labour Jewish women facing deselection had to prove thier loyalty? Loyalty to who?

The issue of Anti Semitisim isnt something new, it has always been there however since the election of Corbyn to leader it seems to have gathered momentum and its now more prevalent. Is Corbyn anti Semitic? That remains to be seen however some of his actions and the inability to grab the matter by the neck doesnt hold in a good light.

Or alternatively they are modern responses to the failures of neoliberalism and unfettered capitalism, and policies that have been successfully adopted in other countries that have better standards of living and levels of inequality than our own

It's a shame the EHRC can't investigate some of the nonsense posted on here about Muslim and Roma communities

Tories are making a right day of it today. Still refusing to publish the Russia report, Rees-Mogg blames the victims of Grenfell for lacking common sense and the National Audit Office found that none of the 200,000 starter homes promised in their 2014 manifesto has been built.

The welsh secretary scandal regathers itself and elsewhere reported to the EC for doctoring footage.

Just a typical day for them really.

Now... back to my twitterfeed to see what the momentum bots have to lie about!

Only fair to point out the WORLDWIDE recession of 2008, but for that this conversation would not exist.
