    Nope.

It was before my time and whilst I dislike the woman and was glad to see her pop her cloggs, I felt that the whole day was a day for those who were directly affected by her actions. My family were affected, but I wasn't.

There is an argument made by those youngsters who attended that she made it hard for them because she made it hard for their parents, but that doesn't wash with me. Each to their own n that.

I think her policies at the time she was in power are a lot to do with most working-class people voting for this stupid Brexit, Privatising gas, water, electric, railways, selling off council houses and the shutting down and part shutting down of the heavy industry it devastated parts of the country including ours, and then we get since 2010 austerity on top, with people like Farage, Johnson, Gove, Mogg, Raab, Patel, Truss, McVay, Mann, Hoey, and Leadson blaming the E.U. most people, unfortunately, dropped for the con,

Not only that but parties change their leaders all the time. Imagine voting or not voting for someone purely based on the leader of their party and then they change a few months down the line and you’re stuck with a crap MP and a majority government you don’t want for 5 years based on that decision.

There is an argument that a sizable number of the voters wanting Brexit (Tory over 50s) are the same voters that voted for Thatcher and voted leave to reverse their votes from when they were younger.

Or even Hansard, where it is quoted as it was said:

Of course Corbyn was protesting for his release, Mandela fought violence with violence, had close ties with Fidel Castro and Palestinian terrorist leader Yasser Arafat. See the connection ? As we know JC loves a communist and a terrorist. Easy to forget that Mandela was a man of violence while the happy clappers at the town hall are falling over themselves to name part of the town center after him. We’ll turn a blind eye to the fact that he was best mates with Gaddafi and thanked him for providing training and $10 million to the ANC. Aye, top lad Mandela in his youth, I’d expect nothing less that JC’s name to be in the same sentence of any of that lot.

Just thought I'd reply and apologise for the 'fool' comment. Shouldn't have said that. No need. I'm sure you're a sensible chap. As to the rest of the comments on this thread and politics threads in general people have got entrenched views and I would suspect that you and I aren't going to change ours or overly influence others with our views. However, I would suggest to you that I and many others are not filled with hatred as you say. I'm not filled with hatred at all. Language can be a bit over stated at times and we should sometimes take a step back and think more carefully about how we say things. Which leads me back to the beginning... Apologies and best wishes. We'll just have to disagree about things.

I can see why this debate is going nowhere. Being on a football forum we follow our team through thick and thin, whatever is happening. A lot of people treat politics the same. It was my dads team, etc.

If someone said I should support sheff u, I’d tell them what to do! Even though my club is, in my eyes not making the best decisions. And clearly not getting the best results.

In other words, even though I may whinge about the owners, I still turn up.

    Politics should be different...

The decline in the area they lived in would have affected the children though.

I don't think that's true. People vote on their principles and with a degree of pragmatism as to the overall outcome. Often voting patterns won't change because despite fluctuations within approach the underpinning principles of political parties remain broadly the same. However there are a considerable number of people who are centrists that may vote for any of the three main parties dependent on their current general direction.

People may also change their principles over their lifetime or as their circumstances change. Or they may become disillusioned with a certain approach. Or, as the stereotype goes, simply become more little "c" conservative as they get older.
