I just hope we’re positive and try to attack. They’re incredibly inconsistent. At times they look terrible. Bang some early tackles in, let em know they’re in a game.
I was thinking the more recent Liverpool that have regularly won trophies & reached points totals of 80-100 points in the league. They could play a full second team of Kelleher, Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Tsimikas, Jones, Endo, Elliott, Chiesa, Nunez & Gakpo & I’d still see no chance of an upset whereas I don’t get that with Man Utd & Chelsea. Rafa’s side that we beat were nowhere near as good & even finished outside the top 4.
The Liverpool side in 82 with Grobbelar, Hansen, Souness, Dalgleish and Rush was probably one of the best teams ever but we still drew at Anfield.
I'd be sitting the lads down and showing them the Chelsea and Liverpool Fa cup victories....... Limited players playing way above their level.
It's incredible how many people equate Man Utd finishing 8th in the Premier League last season, to a fall from grace comparable of that of Scunthorpe or Yeovil Town. If by some stroke of luck (and we will need a slice of it), we turn them over at their place, they'll still have eyes on the 3 other competitions they're in this season.
People of my age remember the fergie years winning everything. 8th and a f.a Cup win in the 90s would have been embarrassing for them.
Maybe the Cups, but they’re light years away from challenging for the PL. I think they could even miss out on a CL spot again.
They haven't won much since he left especially with the money they've thrown. Shows what a great manager he was, best the premier league has seen imo.
They are also playing champions league the following day. Would imagine that game is going get moved back to the following week.
Yep, and my mate who’s a United fan bought a ticket which has the game on the 25th. Not a clue but would hope to know soon so we can book corresponding days off work etc.
